He was the leader of Manchester United's Class of '92, he was the mentor of Cristiano Ronaldo's career, and a phone call brought the 37-year-old Luo back to Trafford, and he was Sir Alex Ferguson, who single-handedly made Manchester United one of the most successful clubs in the history of the Premier League.
Ferguson was born on 31 December 1941 in Glasgow, Scotland, England, and was a former English professional footballer, coach and striker who played for St Johnstone F.C. and did not have a great career.
He debuted in Scotland in 1957 at Queen's Park F.C. and has been playing in the Scottish League ever since. In 1974, at the age of 32, Ferguson announced his official retirement. In the same year, he officially began his coaching career at East Stirlingshire Football Club. In 1986, he became the head coach of Manchester United Football Club in England, and over the next 27 years, he led Manchester United to a total of 1500 matches, won 895 victories, won 38 titles, and helped Manchester United achieve the "Triple Crown" in the 1998-99 season. In 2012 the Jazz were named the best coach of the first decade of the 21st century by IFFHS. On 19 May 2013, at the age of 72, Sir Alex Ferguson officially retired after the 2012–13 Premier League season.
