Crack repair method of fluoroplastic chemical pump

The pump housing of the fluoroplastic chemical pump is an energy conversion housing, which is affected by the pressure of the liquid and the temperature of the liquid. The cracks in the casing of fluoroplastic chemical pumps are usually caused by mechanical or thermal stress. Therefore, the pump casing should be checked regularly. The crack repair method and repair method of chemical pump are as follows:

(1) Crack inspection: Gently tap the shell with a hammer. If there is a cracking sound, it indicates that a rupture has occurred. Carefully look for crack locations in fluoroplastic chemical pumps. If necessary, it can be examined with a magnifying glass or colored flaw detection method, and the location and length of the crack can be determined.

(2) Crack repair method:

a. If the crack is located in a place where there is no pressure or no sealing effect, in order to prevent the crack from expanding, a round hole with a diameter of 3 mm can be drilled at the beginning and end of the crack to eliminate local stress concentration.

If the crack is in the area of compression, the repair method is as follows.

Before welding, drill a small hole at both ends of the crack, then shovel out the groove along the crack and install bolts on the groove to prevent nearby material from pulling apart as it cools and shrinks.
