The sixth stop of the 2019 Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour has arrived in Beijing;

The trophy tour lasts for two years and will visit 18 countries on the eve of the 2019 Rugby World Cup. The 2019 Rugby World Cup will be held in Japan, which will also be the first time the tournament will be held in Asia;
Rugby participation in Asia is growing strongly, with more than 500,000 new participants through the Impact Beyond programme of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
The 2019 Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour has arrived in Beijing to attract and inspire new and old fans and players. With the Webb Ellis Cup Touring Exhibition visiting tsinghua university affiliated middle school and Beijing Eleventh School Longyu Experimental Middle School this week, hundreds of students have come into close contact with the trophy.
In cooperation with the Chinese Rugby Association, the tour provided students with an opportunity to learn about rugby and experience the spirit of rugby, and students also experienced rugby in the game with former Chinese national team players Li Yang and Han Xiaolong. At the Affiliated Middle School of Tsinghua University, the trophy tour exhibition was also warmly welcomed by Mr. Wang Dianjun, the principal and chairman of the China Branch of the World Famous Secondary School Alliance.

The Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour will visit 18 countries throughout the tour to warm up for the upcoming 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. Beijing is the sixth stop of the tour, which will travel to some countries where rugby has matured and are still young, and will support impact Beyond, the legacy of the 2019 World Cup in Asia. The project aims to attract and nurture 1 million rugby enthusiasts and inject new blood into rugby.

Tomorrow, the trophy touring exhibition will arrive at China Agricultural University. In 1990, Professor Cao Xihuan of China Agricultural University introduced rugby to China and established China's first rugby team. The Weber Ellis Cup will be exhibited alongside rugby memorabilia from China Agricultural University, and the China Agricultural University rugby team will also play an exhibition match with former Chinese national team players such as Zhang Zhiqiang, Zhu Peihou, Xu Hui and Li Shufeng. In addition, local students in Beijing will also be invited to China Agricultural University to participate in the Rugby World Cup 2019 trophy tour and fun activities to celebrate International Children's Day.
The trophy will arrive at the Great Wall this Saturday, when children will have the opportunity to play Get Into Rugby at the foot of the Wall and experience rugby. The Get Into Rugby project is part of the World Rugby Federation's strategy to develop rugby on a global scale through member regions and member associations, thereby encouraging sports enthusiasts of all ages to "try, enjoy and stick to" the game of rugby. According to the Asian Rugby Federation, as of the end of November 2017, there were more than 680,000 Get Into Rugby participants in Asia, more than all other regions, and 36% of them were women, once again demonstrating the great potential of rugby in this young region of Asia.

The Rugby World Cup 2019 will be held from 20 September to 2 November 2019. More than 1.5 million tickets have been requested so far.
