The first commercial biological payload "Tinder-1" in China was successfully launched

On the afternoon of December 17, the "Tinder-1" space microgravity biological payload test device developed by the rocket faction of the private aerospace enterprise was launched and launched with the "Huayi-1" rocket at a certain test site in the northwest by carrying the "Dexterity" satellite platform of Xingzhong Space.

This is the successful launch of China's first commercial space biological payload, the launch flight altitude is 250km, the microgravity level is 10-4g, the satellite telemetry parameters are normal, the biological payload is working normally, and the launch mission has been a complete success.

"Tinder No. 1" is the first space microgravity biological test device designed and developed by a private enterprise in China, which aims to provide convenient microgravity research services and commercialization solutions for near-Earth space life science exploration, aerospace biomedical research, biotechnology experiments, etc.

In order to meet the needs of commercial bioload in terms of miniaturization, modularity and low cost, "Tinder No. 1" adopts SOC technology based on ARM processors for software and hardware collaborative design in system architecture, customizes the first bioload operating system based on Linux, and realizes the first technical verification. In terms of reliability, the strategy of dual-machine backup is adopted to improve the ability to diagnose and repair on-orbit faults and survive. In terms of functional design, it integrates a variety of functional modules such as intelligent environment perception module, biological imaging module, communication control module, and bioreactor module to meet the core needs of space biological experiments.

According to experts such as Zhuang Fengyuan, academician of the International Academy of Astronautics and chief scientist of the Rocket School, China has entered the era of manned space stations, and microgravity is a subversive historical opportunity for several major industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, materials science and nutrition. It can greatly shorten the research and development cycle of new drugs and vaccines, accelerate the development process of protein crystals and new materials, and its potential scientific value and commercial benefits are huge.

Cheng Wei, founder of Rocket School, pointed out that demand and cost are the core problems that need to be solved in the current commercial spaceflight. Rocket Pie will also adopt the design idea of "star-arrow integration" and build a space biological laboratory from the perspective of industrialization to provide commercial space technology products and services for the biomedical industry.

At present, Rocket Pie has signed cooperation agreements with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Ruijin Hospital and other units. This will be followed by the development and commercial cooperation of biological loads for cell morphology and molecular biology. Yan Weixin, chief scientist of the rocket pie payload, revealed that the specific design of the "Tinder-2" cell-form student payload is about to be completed, and the "Tinder" series of biological payloads is planned to carry out multiple commercial launches in 2022.
