"Some people are alive and he is dead; some people are dead, and he is still alive. Some people, riding on the heads of the people: 'Oh, how great I am!' 'Some people, bend down to be cattle and horses for the people..." It comes from the short poem "Some People" by the famous poet Zang Kejia in China, which was written by Mr. Zang Kejia for Mr. Lu Xun in 1949, and this year is the 13th anniversary of Mr. Lu Xun's death.
At 5:25 a.m. on October 19, 1936, Mr. Lu Xun left us forever, a star in the Chinese literary world fell, countless Chinese wept bitterly, and the people of Shanghai spontaneously came to the door of Mr. Lu Xun's apartment to give him his last journey.
At that time, Song Qingling learned of this news, immediately left for Lu Xun's house, and quickly organized a "funeral committee", all of whom were selected by Song Qingling, namely: Cai Yuanpei, Neishan Guanzao, Song Qingling, Smedley, Shen Junru, Xiao Shan, Mao Dun, Hu Yuzhi, Hu Feng, Zhou Zuoren, and Zhou Jianren.
The committee immediately jointly discussed the number of people who carried the coffin, there were always 16 people, and each of them had a big head, namely: Ba Jin, Lu Diqian, Hu Feng, Chen Baichen, Cao Bai, Huang Yuan, Zhang Tianyi, Jin Yi, Yao Ke, Wu Langxi, Xiao Qian, Nie Cyan, Ouyang Shan, Zhou Wen, Xiao Jun, and Li Liewen.
First of all, Ba Jin, everyone is very familiar with him, his original name is Li Yaotang, his "Home", "Spring", "Autumn" and love trilogy "Fog", "Rain", "Electricity" are all works in the history of Chinese literature, when the "September 18 Incident", Mr. Ba Jin threw himself into the Anti-Japanese Salvation Movement without hesitation, served as a director of the All-China Literary and Art Circles Anti-Enemy Association, and spent his whole life running for the country, worthy of the respect of all of us.
However, at this time, Ba Jin was being tortured by the disease and his health was not good, but he insisted on carrying the coffin for Mr. Lu Xun and personally sending him away.
The second person to carry the coffin, named Shikachi Takashi, whose real name was Takashi Setguchi, graduated from Tokyo Imperial University and was a progressive Japanese writer. In 1936, he came to China alone, met Lu Xun in Shanghai, and after reading Lu Xun's works, he made up his mind to join the ranks of China's War of Resistance Against Japan and publicly published articles opposing the Japanese militarist invasion of China.
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he was invited to become an advisor to Japanese prisoners of war in anti-war education and training. He also spontaneously organized the "Anti-War Alliance Task Force", which wanted to use his own strength to change the thinking of the Japanese army until the end of the war, and later, Lu Digen became a Chinese national.
He and Mr. Lu Xun were lifelong friends, and the 7-volume "Complete Works of Great Lu Xun" was organized and translated by him, and he wanted more Japanese people to see Mr. Lu Xun's works! Upon learning of Mr. Lu Xun's death, he immediately rushed to Shanghai, hoping to join the coffin carrying team.
Hu Feng, Chen Baichen, Cao Bai, Huang Yuan and others also have their own contributions in Chinese history, and they have deep feelings with Mr. Lu Xun, some of them are old, some are still sick, carrying heavy coffins, they have no complaints.
From October 19 to October 22, tens of thousands of people rushed to attend Mr. Lu Xun's funeral, there were too many people on the day of the funeral, the authorities set out to maintain order, from the funeral home to the Cemetery of All Nations there are about ten miles, 16 people hold their heads high, without a word. Song Qingling, Cai Yuanpei, Hu Yuzhi and others also quietly walked and followed.
The people who saw this scene silently shed tears and sent away this great writer.
