Especially in the cold weapon period, when there is no large thermal weapon to directly and accurately hit the enemy center, it is up to the soldiers to fight down the territory with one knife and one shot, and such a battle is called "white blade war".
The countries involved in World War II were basically divided into two camps, one was the Fascist Axis led by Germany, Japan and Italy, and the other was the countries united to resist fascist aggression, which was called the Allied camp. Among the Axis powers, Italy has always been a very strange country.
Their then Prime Minister Mussolini was the culprit of World War II, the founder of fascism, so Italy would enter the Axis camp; but their military and civilian anti-war sentiment was very high, Italian soldiers could not fight without fighting, when the enemy surrendered, they would finish, and they would help build prisoner of war camps for their own troops.
But is Italy really that weak? Not. Neither of these two situations could bear them, so the ancient soldiers would be invincible on the battlefield, because only by winning victory could they survive. The second reason is because of military discipline, or military law. This situation of military discipline has existed in the pre-Qin period, for example, the great crime of "Zhulian Nine Tribes" that we often see in costume dramas actually appeared in the military at the beginning.
The Book of Shang records that xia qi and shang tang, in order to ensure that the soldiers would not retreat because of timidity, came up with a punishment, stipulating that if there was a person who did not abide by military discipline and retreated without authorization, the father and son would be linked together. In addition to the crime of sitting consecutively, there are other regulations, such as Xia Qi's remarks in "Gan Policeman": "Reward the ancestors with your life, do not use your life to kill the society, and give it to you." ”
After talking about the threat of failure, the monarch's demands, and so on, let's talk about this third kind, that is, rewards. In ancient times, merit was rewarded according to the slaughter of the head of the enemy army, and in siege warfare, the soldiers who were the first to climb the city wall were rewarded the most. Those ordinary people were forced to join the army, and they were gone for several years, and they were likely to die if they were not careful.
Since they are all dead, why not be brave and fierce, save more military merits, and be lucky to be able to be crowned as a marquis, and bad luck can also leave more benefits for the family. These three reasons add up, it has become the ancient war, even if the soldiers in the front row know that there is a big danger, no one will retreat, because the upper is not as strong, combined with the special social environment of ancient times, you are also on.
