His family was poor, and at the age of eight he took on the heavy responsibilities of the family, herding cattle for people to make a living, and at the age of thirteen he went to the landlord's house as a long-term worker, because of his character, he did not cause trouble.
In 1930, just as Chiang Kai-shek's campaign to suppress the Communists was in full swing, 15-year-old Wang Jinshan joined the army because he performed well in the ranks and dared to fight, and within a year he was promoted from a small soldier to a company commander.
During the Red Army period, he fought bravely and fiercely, completely putting life and death aside, so he was called "The Madman of the King".
