After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, it nominally entered the Republican period, but in fact entered a chaotic era in China, at which time some of the governors left by the Qing Dynasty began to divide one side and dominate, and since then China has entered a period of warlord chaos. The big warlords annexed the small warlords, and after some reshuffling, even in the time of the War of Resistance, there were still warlord forces that divided one side.
Among the various warlords in the last years of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, the Fengzhi warlord Zhang Zuolin was a figure that could not be bypassed in history. Originally, Zhang Zuolin thought that his support for Yuan Shikai could be exchanged for the reuse and promotion of old Yuan, such as making him the Overseer of Fengtian. However, Yuan Shikai's trust in Zhang Zuolin is obviously not enough, or the old Yuan has his own plan.
On November 16, 1912, he arranged for Zhang Xiluan to serve as the Overseer of Fengtian. After the plan was made, Zhang Zuolin first arranged for a small group of soldiers to suddenly shoot indiscriminately in the night. Zhang Zuolin then hurried to the governor's mansion to report to Duan Zhigui, saying that because of his opposition to Yuan Shikai's imperial system, the officers and men of the 28th Division contacted the officers and men of the 27th Division to launch a coup d'état and besiege Fengtian.
Duan Zhigui was not clear about the situation here, and he was nervous and afraid, so he asked Zhang Zuolin for countermeasures, and Zhang Zuolin said that if Feng Delin's 28th Division came and besieged Shenyang, I would not be able to stop it. Feng Delin was imprisoned, his wife was extremely bad, busy pleading with Zhang Zuolin, Zhang Zuolin was a good person again, called and asked Duan Qirui to release Feng Delin.
In the end, although Feng Delin was released, because of his crime of supporting Zhang Xun, all his positions and honors were erased. When Feng Delin returned to Fengtian, he became an ordinary citizen completely. Therefore, no matter how powerful Zhang Zuolin is, he is still very "small" under the premise of the great righteousness of the whole nation.
