Logitech launches a $60 anchor light source

For streamers and video creators in general, being able to beautify the subject's good lighting is an essential element of production. Logitech (under the Logitech for Creators brand) has just unveiled a new lighting device made specifically for streaming, called The Litrah Glow, and says it offers "a natural, bright look for all skin tones."

Logitech launches a $60 anchor light source

Litra Glow provides a glare-free light that should be gentle for the eyes and safe for streaming throughout the day. It also features Logitech's TrueSoft technology, which guarantees cinematic color accuracy and achieves soft, flattering light that obviously can make streamers look less, well, tired.

Whether it will truly give all skin tones a "radiant" look remains to be seen. Different skin tones require different methods of video lighting — for example, using the same lighting for white actors, for a long time, in dim scenes of movies and shows, making black actors look gray-headed or barely visible. However, one of the creators of Logitech to talk about Litra Glow was black visual artist and photographer Aundre Larrow, who shared tips on how to shoot dark skin tones in an article he wrote for Adobe. Larrow said of The Litra Glow.

"The lighting looks natural. It looks good on my skin, works for people of all skin tones, and doesn't seem exaggerated. Warm to cool colors are super accurate and I find the light to be strong and soft enough to be used alone. "

Ring lights and streaming lights have become very popular due to the rise of game streaming services like Twitch, but also provide lighting for creators on YouTube and TikTok. Elgato already has ring lights and key lights for streamers, but they're much more expensive than Logitech's new device.

Logitech's Litra Glow is plug-and-play, and streamers can choose different brightness and color temperatures from five presets. If they want to customize further, they can adjust these settings themselves. They can also connect it to Logitech's G HUB software, create their own presets, and assign them to the G keys of a Logitech G keyboard or mouse. When the Litra Glow begins shipping sometime this month, it will come with a monitor stand that adjusts height, tilt and rotation. It will be sold on logitech websites in the United States, Canada, Australia and some European countries, as well as amazon, Adorama and other retailers, for $60.
