Donovan: I weigh heavily in the team's trading decisions Chemistry is a priority

Bulls coach Donovan expressed his views on the team's potential trading decisions in an interview.

Reporter: How much influence does your comments have on the Bulls' potential trading market decisions?

Donovan: "Well, for me, it starts with my trust in Arturas (Bulls vice president) and Mark (Bulls general manager). First of all, we can talk about our team very openly and honestly, and I think that practice is very, very healthy. And then there's the discussion about some of the trades last year, you know, I think there are some things that have to be taken around, like Daniel Theis, which we got almost for free in the first five minutes of last year's trade day deadline, which is really hard for us to miss, but it obviously changed the style of our team in a lot of ways. When you're trying to integrate all the similar players, it can make everyone on the team lose some rhythm. So, I think it's a very, very good thing to talk about this at the end of the season, and I think Atullas has also been aware of that. I take the chemistry of the team very seriously and I think it's very important for the team.

How much influence does my opinion have on trading decisions? ’

I think I have a very, very good relationship with Aturas on this. There is no doubt that he is the boss and he will make the final decision, but I do feel that he will listen to me. If for some reason he is not able to listen to me, I will still give my all for this team. Because I believe in him, that's his job and what he's doing. He would think about these things in terms of some angles that I wouldn't be able to pay attention to. I practiced, shot, rested with my players, so I felt good about our team. But I still think Aturas will follow me without question because I will give him information based on what I know about the team. Of course, I will stand behind him and support him one hundred percent because I know how hard they work and everything will be fine. We talk a lot and communicate all the time, which is really great. ”
