Sheringham: Cristiano Ronaldo is becoming a dressing room leader and he will pass on his experience to the young players

According to talksport, Manchester United star Sheringham talked about the Red Devils' current turbulent period in the interview program and praised Ronaldo's attitude towards young players.

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the club last summer, but things didn't go well, with the Red Devils currently in seventh place in the Premier League, four points behind Arsenal.

Ronaldo, 36, has not been bad, scoring 14 goals in 22 games and believing he has a responsibility to help the younger generation of players get better.

Cristiano Ronaldo said: "Mature players can always give advice to young players, but I will give you an example, if I give advice and you don't want to take it, then things will become a little difficult. I remember when I was in my 20s, the old players in the team mentioned me and I would say to myself, 'Cristiano, you know you have to improve, they know more than you, they know more than you.' But now the players are reluctant to accept criticism, and I'm not talking about manchester United players, but about a general situation. I also have kids, and sometimes you're a little harsher and they'll go back and forth and you'll have to find a way to communicate with them. ”

Former Red Devils star Sheringham said: "Marcus Rashford is going through a difficult period and he needs a mentor to help him get back on track, just like Roy Keane did in the team in the past. ”

"Marcus Rashford tried to do some fancy moves, and in my day there would be senior players who would criticize him, 'What are you doing?'" Keep the ball in control and seriously consider the game! ’”

"It's going to get you grounded, but it doesn't look like United have that role right now. If Keane was still captain, he would have done so. ”

Sheringham believes Ronaldo is becoming a leading role in the dressing room, applying what he learned from Keane and Neville to today's young players.

'Cristiano Ronaldo was just teaching him what he knew best, when he came to Manchester United, he was on the flanks, but he couldn't score goals, so Keane told him to stop your showmanship and learn to be down-to-earth so you can really be a player."

'That's what he's learned over the years, and he's passing that philosophy on to the next generation of players.'
