In the above judgment, the court held that the white LEDs on the Asus smartphone ZenFone Go (ZB5551KL) and the ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KL) infringed nichia Japan's patents No. 5177317 and 5610056, and that the act of selling the pre-unveiled smartphone between ASUS and SYNNEX also constituted an infringement of Nichia's pre-revealed patents, so the court ordered the defendants and others to be liable for damages to Nichia.

In order to maintain fair business activities, RIYA is committed to protecting its patents and other intellectual property rights, and will take appropriate and necessary measures in any country for any infringer. (Source: Nichia Chemical)
