The work has a deep heritage and a rich historical connotation
Yancheng ruins were built in the Spring and Autumn Period, is the most complete preserved Spring and Autumn Period "Three Cities and Three Rivers" shape of the ground ancient city site, dating back to more than 2,700 years. From 1986 to 1991, the archaeological team conducted four six-year archaeological excavations of Yancheng, unearthing more than 3,000 precious cultural relics. Among them, the most famous canoes are 4 and more than 20 bronzes, all of which are rare treasures. The excavation of this batch of cultural relics showed the unique cultural outlook and connotation of the Yancheng site, causing a sensation in society and academia. In 1988, Yancheng was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit with its unique shape and precious cultural relics.
The construction of Yancheng, combined with the local characteristics of Jiangnan Water Town, builds the city by digging the moat and piling up the soil, the three rivers are interconnected, once all rely on boats to ferry in and out, one city and one water, layer by layer, three moats and three walls, forming a three-layer barrier, reflecting the defensive protection function of "building a city to defend the king". The sub-city and the inner city of Yancheng are not in the middle, and the sub-city is a hundred meters away from the center to the north, so that the three rivers of the three cities north of the sub-city overlap closely, forming a terrain of "peaks and hills, deep valleys" to block the cold north wind in winter, while the east, south and west directions of the inner city and the outer city form a large open and gentle zone to meet the cool southeast wind dominated by summer and gather the wind. The irregular layout of the Three Cities and Three Rivers presents unique artistic characteristics and formal beauty such as rhythm, rigidity and softness, natural organicity, and mysterious mystery, reflecting the aesthetics of ancient Chinese modeling.
