A Liter of Tears is an inspirational television series that premiered on Fuji Television in Japan from October 11 to December 20, 2005. The drama is adapted from Aya Kito's work of the same name. Directed by Masanori Murakami, written by Michiru Ezu, and starring Erika Sawajiri and Ryo Nishikido.

A liter of tears plot
15-year-old Yaya Ikeuchi (Erika Sawajiri) was born into an ordinary and happy family, and the daily life of a family of six is ordinary but very happy. Ya, who has been a good student and a good baby since childhood, was also admitted to the high school of his choice, and thought that a brilliant and happy life was waiting for him from then on, but he did not expect to suffer from an incurable disease - spinocerebellar degeneration. Slowly, Yaye's physical functions began to be out of control, she couldn't keep her balance when she walked, she often fell, she couldn't even write well, looking at herself so useless, Yaya also cried again and again, when she cried and asked the doctor, "Why did the disease choose me?" At that time, it made all the audience burst into tears. With the support of her family and her favorite boy, Haruka Aso (Ryo Nishikido), Yaya is determined to try to spend every day without regret and not leave a trace of regret for her youth.
