The theme of this year's essay is "Chinese Urban Science Fiction Business Card", which aims to call on science fiction enthusiasts to focus on "science fiction Chinese style" in response to the call of the 12th Chinese Science Fiction Nebula Carnival in 2021, focusing on the times and looking to the future.

In 2019, the Shenzhen Science and Fantasy Growth Fund released the "2019 China Urban Science Fiction Index Report", which was selected from 16 indicators in 4 dimensions of industrial development, policy support, media coverage and resident acceptance, and Chengdu, Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Tianjin and Wuhan were selected as the top ten science fiction cities in China.

The cities on the list are not only China's first-tier or new first-tier cities, but also China's economic powerhouses. Under the guidance of "strengthening the national strategic scientific and technological strength", more cities will introduce science fiction elements, build a science fiction industry, and build a "science fiction city".

With the vigorous development of the science fiction industry and science fiction industry agglomeration areas, science fiction cultural tourism, science fiction conference affairs, science fiction cultural creation, as well as cross-border catering, food, music, night economy and other new consumption and new economic growth points will also erupt in the future, which deserves the attention of science fiction cities across China.

1. Awards

The first "National Style" Science Fiction Essay Contest proposes to have ten winners, including one winner, one runner-up and one runner-up each; seven outstanding awards will be awarded to works with scores ranked 4-10.

2. Candidates

3. Award process

The first "National Style" Science Fiction Essay Contest will be submitted from March 1, 2022 and end on June 30, 2022, and only self-nominations will be accepted. The selection process will be based on the basic principles of "fairness, impartiality and openness". Entries will go through the preliminary selection, re-selection and final selection. The results of the final selection session are in order of score, and the works with the same score will be voted by the organizing committee of the first "National Style" Science Fiction Essay Contest to determine the ranking. The jury is composed of popular science fiction writers, scholars, critics and other practitioners.

4. Participation method

• Selecting the theme of the "National Style Science Fiction Essay Contest" in the Brain Hole App and publishing science fiction works is regarded as a successful entry. Authors who submit articles through email need to authorize the organizer to publish the articles on the Brain Hole APP for display, but the copyright belongs to the author himself.
• Entries are only Chinese Simplified submissions, and must comply with the Guidelines for publishing Articles on the Brain Hole App.
• Entrants are limited to 15,000 words.
• The author owns all the copyright of the entry, but must ensure that the work is an original work, does not infringe on the legitimate rights and interests of others, prohibits plagiarism, plagiarism and imitation, and will immediately disqualify the entry once the above behavior is discovered.
