Municipal and Suzhou District Libraries "Do Not Close" During the Spring Festival

According to Jiuquan' release:

At 6 p.m. on January 28, Xue Yawen, who was studying abroad as a graduate student, packed up his things and left the study room of the Suzhou District Library. After studying here for two years, she and the study room administrator have become very familiar with each other, she asked the administrator for a few days off for the New Year, "this year's New Year's Normal Opening", this answer made her almost jump up with joy.

"Because of the epidemic, I have stayed in Jiuquan for the past two years, and my learning has all relied on online classes. But online classes only take up a small part of the day, most of the time need to self-study, at home can not be quiet, will always be disturbed by all kinds of chores, so I come to the library every day, here to learn more efficiently. Xue Yawen said that she was afraid that she would spend more than ten days without doing anything during the New Year, "wasting her life." She was very happy to hear the news that the library was open normally during the Chinese New Year this year, and she could maintain her learning status in school again. She's graduating this year and wants to take advantage of this last holiday to sprint.

Like Xue Yawen, there are many people who study in the library, including college students who go home for the New Year, ordinary citizens who love to read, and foreigners who celebrate the New Year on the spot, who are accustomed to daily reading and learning. For them, although the New Year is happy, it is even happier if they can have a place to continue reading during the New Year.

With the development of the times, people's concepts have changed. At the New Year, fewer people visit relatives and friends to play cards and drink, more people enjoy flowers and read books in fitness sports, and having a "healthy year" and "cultural year" has become the wish of more and more Jiuquan people. To this end, the Municipal Library and the Suzhou District Library opened normally during the Spring Festival this year, and under the premise of doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control measures, they planned to carry out a series of online and offline activities to enrich the spiritual and cultural life of citizens during the Spring Festival.

"Our series of activities has already begun. In terms of book rafting, we recently updated the bibliography of 500 books for the Jiuquan Armed Police Squadron Book Rafting Point, 80 books related to the rafting fitness of the Municipal Gymnasium, and also planned to donate magazines suitable for the elderly to xinlong sunset red nursing home and chunguang nursing home. Zhang Meiqi, a staff member of the Municipal Library, said that during the Spring Festival, the library also arranged online and offline activities such as good book recommendation, theme book sharing meeting, Winter Olympics theme online book recommendation, lottery and prize guessing lantern riddle, and prepared book purchase vouchers and exquisite gifts to advocate reading for the whole people and help the construction of "Book Fragrant Wine Spring".

The reporter learned in the interview that the municipal library Chinese New Year's Eve closed, opening from the first to the sixth day of the first month of the first month, and closing from the seventh to the ninth day of the first month. The museum is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00.

On January 28, the reporter saw in the Suzhou District Library that there was an endless stream of readers, as young as four or five years old, as old as sixty or seventy years old, and many parents brought their children to read and immersed themselves in the ocean of books. On the first floor, the study room that can accommodate 120 people is almost full of young people who look like college students, who either flip through professional books or take online classes.

The reporter learned that as early as mid-January, the Suzhou District Library organized staff to remove batches of old books from the shelves and replace them with new books to send cultural New Year goods to the majority of readers.

According to reports, in previous years, the Suzhou District Library was closed from the first to the third day of the first month of the first month, and the normal opening of the fourth day of the first month began. During this year's Spring Festival, the Suzhou District Library Chinese New Year's Eve and the seventh day of the first lunar month are closed, and the library is open normally from the first to the sixth day of the first month, and from the eighth to the fifteenth day of the first month. The museum is open daily from the first day of the first month to the sixth day of the first month, 9:00-11:30, 15:00-17:00, and the normal schedule is implemented from the eighth day of the first month, 8:30-12:00, 14:30-18:00.

Wang Caixia, director of Suzhou District Library, said that in consideration of the epidemic situation, Suzhou District Library has recently used the "Suzhou District Library" WeChat public account to carry out some online reading activities, in addition to continuing the original online reading activities during the Spring Festival, it will also launch online activities such as listening to books, parent-child reading, short video contests, etc., to send readers a fun and long knowledge "knowledge red packet", so that the Spring Festival will have a cultural flavor.
