With the opening of the shoreline of the Huangpu River and Suzhou River, "One River and One River" has become a new landmark of the People's City, and also has their own exclusive music - "The Bund Walk" and "Su River Sleepwalk".

Both pieces were written by the young composer Luo Wei, who also wrote no less than 200 pieces of music related to Shanghai, which were listened to hundreds of millions of times on the Internet. His creative process is to transmit the temperature of the city to him, and then to pass it out. "People's City, there is a beam of light for me!" The series approached the musician who composed music for the city today. Listen to the report:

Listen, it's "The Bund Walk."

In the fall of 2018, Lowe composed this song for the first China International Import Expo. This is also the first "theme song" exclusively on the Bund in Shanghai, romantic and long...

Listen again, it's Sleepwalking on the Sioux River.

At the beginning of this year, the melody written by Lowe to Suzhou Creek was played in a loop on the newly unveiled Suzhou Riverside Guangyin Pier on the north side of the Changshou Road Bridge.

Ms. Guan, a citizen, said: "It is very beautiful, with the lights, this Suzhou River at night, I think life will not be so tense." ”

In order to achieve the best results, this version of "Sleepwalking on the Su River" on the Guangyin Pier has changed its manuscript several times and has been continuously polished. Luo Wei considered that there were residential areas nearby, and also painfully subtracted in the arrangement: "Because some frequency bands may actually be transmitted farther, maybe the violin you hear is not so penetrating and loud." When you listen to it, it will still be combined with the surrounding such as the Longevity Road Bridge, it and the sound of traffic, and then there is a trumpet solo, because I think this seems to be a special fusion with the night of Suzhou Creek, so I have a special treatment for that section, which is heard on the bridge, and cannot be heard in the record. ”

Among the people who stroll through the rivers and rivers, there are residents, tourists, couples who are in love, white-collar workers who have just finished working overtime... How can we make a good song that everyone can emotionally resonate with and trigger everyone's heart for Shanghai?

Lowe said he was walking around the city in search of answers: "First feel the city. I think what I don't lack is the interaction with Shanghai, like when I was in the riverside, I would also talk to them, I also wrote a song called "Binjiang Sunset Coffee", in the east bank of the door of 1862, bought a cup of takeaway coffee, sat in a lot of yacht docking places, you can see the old Bund from the gap of the yacht, so that song has both the warmth of the sun and a sense of history, I think these are all taught to me by Shanghai. ”

Luo Wei is actually from Guangzhou, was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music 15 years ago, and thus became acquainted with Shanghai, and chose to stay and work and live after graduation. In Baoshan Wisdom Bay, he has his own studio, every day at dusk, the office location is just opposite the sunset, which makes him feel the other side of the "industrial" Baoshan, so he created the soft and delicate "Xiawan on The Road of The Dragon River".

In the past 8 years, Luo Wei has created more than 200 "piano essays" closely related to Shanghai, such as "Sunset Moments on Huashan Road" and "Serenade on the Viaduct on Yan'an Road". He uploaded these works online and played them very well. In the comments section, some people praised his music for "depicting Shanghai in one song", while others regarded him as a "city tour guide who explained with musical notes".

Lowe: "Most of the comments I received told me, 'Oh, it seems that in these music, he has more impulse to come to Shanghai', and many people may be abroad, listening to this music, he especially misses Madang Road, especially Misses Sinan Road. I believe that the city is secretly transmitting an emotion. ”

On the occasion of the New Year, Lowe uploaded his own new work, called "January 25, Sioux River Song".

Rowe said that the streets of Shanghai inspire him, the rivers of Shanghai give him emotions, and he will continue to compose music for the city, continuing to convey the warmth of the two-way rush between "people" and "cities": "I am still looking forward to some of my music creations and some of the city's public art installations will do some more integration." 」 The most anticipated thing (is) may be some day in the future, such as in a certain corner, and the music that belongs to this corner is also played here, I think it must be the most romantic thing. ”
