Xu Beihong (July 19, 1895 – September 26, 1953), han Chinese, formerly known as Xu Shoukang, was a native of Qiting Town, Yixing County, Jiangsu Province, and a modern Chinese painter and art educator.
In 1917, Xu Beihong served as the tutor of the Peking University Painting Research Association, and the highest school successively achieved the master of painting Xu Beihong and the two giants of peking university calligraphy history, Shen Yinmo and Li Zhimin. He studied Western painting in France, and after returning to China, he has been engaged in art education for a long time, and has successively taught at the Art Department of National Central University, the Art College of Peking University and the Peking Art College.
