In order to welcome the arrival of the Lantern Festival, on February 14, the Donghu community of Hedong Street launched the activity of "SkillfulLy Making Lanterns, Happy Lantern Festival", where children gathered together to make lanterns, taste lanterns, and feel the unique charm of traditional festivals.
Community workers explained the origin and customs of the Lantern Festival to the children. Under the guidance of community volunteers and parents, the children make lanterns by themselves. Step by step, by sketching, cutting, fixing, pasting, in a short while, a brightly colored lantern with different shapes is made. "You see, this lantern of mine is made of six red envelopes." "I made this out of scrap cartons, first shaped, then colored"... Everyone happily carried their own lanterns and shared the production process, and their faces were full of a sense of accomplishment.
A steaming bowl of sweet and fragrant rice balls is an indispensable delicacy for the Lantern Festival. After making the flower lanterns, the staff brought the fragrant tangyuan to the table, everyone tasted happily, the scene was full of laughter, and the heart felt warm.
This Lantern Festival activity has created a warm and harmonious festival atmosphere for residents, which not only carries forward traditional Chinese culture, but also enlivens the cultural life of the community and enhances the feelings between residents. "Everyone got together to make lanterns and taste tangyuan, which not only exercised the children's hands-on ability, but also allowed them to learn traditional culture, and I am very grateful to the community for providing this opportunity for everyone."
