Synopsis
The Book of Rites, also known as the Little Dai Li Ji, consists of 49 articles, compiled by the Western Han Dynasty master Dai Sanshou. The Book of Rites not only "records" moral norms, but also "records" the canonical system, and also discusses the theoretical and academic issues related to "rites", which has important theoretical value and cultural connotations, and is also regarded as the key to opening up the connotations of the two books of "Zhou Li" and "Rites". Since the Southern Song Dynasty, the two articles of "University" and "Zhongyong" in the book have been called "Four Books" together with the Analects and Mencius, and have become the required books of ancient scholars. To this day, it is still a classic document for the study of Confucianism and a precious material for the study of traditional Chinese culture.

About the author
Yao Ganming (1948-2019), a native of Wujiang, Suzhou, graduated from Nanjing University. He was a professor at the College of Literature and the director of the Institute of Ancient Literature at Jiangnan University. Since 2004, he has lectured on Wang Guowei and Lao Tzu in the "Hundred Family Forum", and the response is very good. His monographs include "Lao Tzu and the Life of the People", "Wang Guowei Anthology", "Research on Pre-Qin Food Culture" and so on.
Yao Ying, son of Yao Ganming, graduated from Fudan University and currently works at Jiangnan University.
