The new car is based on the CLAR pure electric platform and is equipped with the fifth generation of BMW eDrive electric drive technology.
As an oil-to-electricity model, the appearance of the BMW i4 will certainly not be much different from the fuel version of the BMW 4 Series. It retains the overall style of the BMW 4 Series sedan while tweaking the details, the most obvious change being the use of a closed double kidney mesh. Such a design may be to preserve the most recognizable elements of the BMW family.

In terms of power, the two models are equipped with 83.9kWh ternary lithium battery packs, of which the i4 eDrive40 version adopts a rear single motor layout, the maximum power is 340Ps, the peak torque is 420 Nm, the official announcement is 0-100km/h acceleration time is 5.7 seconds, and the cruising range under CLTC standards is 625 km.
The i4 M50 version uses dual motors front and rear, the maximum power is 544Ps, the peak torque is 795 Nm, the acceleration time of 0-100km/h is 3.9 seconds, and the CRUIC standard vehicle range is 560 km.
