I believe that many consumers know that in order to meet the car purchase needs of Chinese consumers, some foreign car companies will launch "China special" models for the Chinese automobile market, and the common one is to lengthen the wheelbase, such as Audi with L, of course, BBA has this phenomenon, whether it is BMW Brilliance, or Beijing Benz, the same is true.
Take BMW, like the domestic market 3 Series, 5 Series and other car series have launched "Li" long-axis version. And this time is even more outrageous, its own size is not small X5, but also to lengthen, increase!
Without much change in the appearance design, the wheelbase of the standard X5 has been extended by 130mm to 3105mm, which is already the same as that of the higher-level BMW X7. The increased length is also fully displayed in the second row of space, resulting in a significant increase in ride comfort and easier access for passengers.
The long-shaft version of the X5 currently has two power classes, xDrive30Li and xDrive 40Li, the former is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with a power output of 261hp/40.8kgm. The latter was upgraded to a 3.0-litre straight-six turbo engine that produced 329hp/45.9kgm, and the two powertrains were paired with a Steptronic eight-speed manual transmission and xDrive four-wheel drive.
At the same time, in order to meet the preferences of Chinese consumers, the long-axis version of the X5 has also been adjusted in configuration, including rear seats with an additional tilt of 4 degrees, panoramic glass skylight, M sports kit, electronic suspension and so on. In addition, the 40Li model can also be equipped with an upgraded electronic pneumatic suspension to bring a softer driving texture, and the long-shaft version of the X5 will be produced at BMW Brilliance's plant in Shenyang, and is expected to be officially launched in China in April this year.
