Since 2009, the Paper-cutting Training Base for the Disabled in Weixian Sunshine Home has trained 500 disabled people, and the employment rate has reached 80%, which is like a "dream incubator" to help more and more disabled people realize the value of life.
It is understood that Weixian paper-cutting has a history of more than 200 years, and in 2009 it was listed as a world-class intangible cultural heritage, which is the only kind of dot color paper-cutting in the country with yin carving as the main and yang carving as the supplement.
Paper-cutting is mainly divided into six categories such as opera characters, flowers, birds, fish and insects, more than 3,000 varieties, the composition is simple and full, the shape is vivid, the knife work is exquisite, the color contrast is strong, and the local atmosphere is strong.
During the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games, Weixian paper-cutting participated as a unique traditional cultural element and appeared internationally.
At present, Weixian paper-cutting has completed many cross-borders from folklore to home accessories, gifts, clothing, and artworks, and the Winter Olympic elements have also injected new life into Weixian paper-cutting, and the paper-cutting works with the theme of the Ice and Snow Winter Olympics have become a new favorite in the market.
Taking advantage of the Winter Olympics, in the future, Weixian paper-cutting will be integrated with cultural products, expand the industrial chain, create cultural extension products, and promote Weixian paper-cutting to the world.
