Nikolo Balkanski (1957-). An American painter of Bulgarian origin, he is a master of high renown today. He has loved to draw since childhood, graduated from art school at the age of 18, and held the exhibition "Time and People" at the age of 21, which won the attention of the world. He then went to the University of Helsinki to study.

In 1981, Nicolo's painting was exhibited under the title "Finland in Portraits". In 1983, Niccolò's painting was exhibited at the October Gallery in the United Kingdom under the title "The Face of Man". In 1984 and 1985, Nicolo was invited to Colorado to create and exhibit. In 1986, Niccolò went to the western United States to engage in landscape creation. I have shared his landscape paintings, and I think his portrait paintings look better.

Nicollow's brushstrokes in the portrait painting have a sense of the interlacing of virtual and real wheels. Reading this kind of painting, there is always the feeling that you want to see the nodule close to the picture, but the closer you get, the more blurry it is. His realistic figure paintings have a very unique depiction method, many details are passed by, but looking at his portrait oil paintings from a distance, it is indeed realistic. Detailed and clear realistic works are artistic creations worthy of admiration.

The illusion in realism and the realism in illusion make Nicklow's characters have a convincing artistic tension. Compared to his landscape paintings, I appreciate his portrait paintings even more. His landscape painting brushstrokes are very different from those of figure paintings, and even colors have different preferences.

General portraiture is often easy to paint in the pursuit of realism, but Nicollow uses a slightly rough brushwork to carve out the character form with crisp color blocks, without a little delay. Presumably, the painter is also sharp and cheerful when he paints.

Each of Niccolo's portrait paintings has a very distinct brushstroke and color preference, as if he has an aesthetic formula in mind, no matter what type of model he faces, men, women and children, he can skillfully put the personality aesthetic set, but the works presented will not bring aesthetic fatigue.

Portrait painting is an artistic creation process in which models and painters work together. When the model faces the painter, the naturalness and relaxation of the expression are the premise of the painter to complete an ideal work. Many portrait paintings, the dynamic and stiff expression of the characters, is not the artist's technique is not successful, often the model's tension is not relaxed.

How to make the model face the painter with the animation pen and have a natural expression? This is probably no longer a matter of the ability of painting, it contains communication skills and psychological cues and the familiarity of the model with the painter. In each of Nicello's portraits, the models are very naturally relaxed, which can only be attributed to the painter's momentary capture of the figure's demeanor.

I admire models who can still have a relaxed expression in front of the camera, and I admire painters (including photographers) who can capture the most moving moments of models.
