A review of archaeological research on the Southern and Northern Dynasties of the Three Kingdoms and two Jin Dynasties in 2018

In 2018, an ancient tomb was excavated in Yuxin Village, Xinqian Street, Huangyan District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province.

The tomb is a brick chamber tomb, the tomb shape is larger, the ancient tomb is 5.7 meters long and 2.47 meters wide. Among them, the front chamber is 1.5 meters high, 1.46 meters wide, 1.7 meters long, the top is a coupon roof, and the tomb is surrounded by green bricks, with different sizes and clear lines.

The vault of the main chamber of the tomb has been destroyed, leaving only an empty shell of the tomb. Archaeologists judge that the tomb was stolen and excavated a long time ago. After careful observation, archaeologists said that according to the tomb structure of two coffins and one room, this ancient tomb should be a two-coffin tomb, because of the love of husband and wife, so there is no wall in the middle. After excavation at the site, two pieces of celadon were unearthed. Judged to be the Tomb of the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

2018 is the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, and at this time node of inheriting the past and opening up the future, it is of practical significance to review and prospect previous archaeological discoveries and research. The convening of the Second Chinese Archaeological Congress has pointed out the direction and put forward requirements for the future development of Chinese archaeology. The seventh volume of the nine-volume edition of "Chinese Archaeology", "Three Kingdoms, Two Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties Volumes", was also published this year, which mainly comprehensively introduced the main results of domestic field archaeological investigation and research during the Three Kingdoms and Two Jin Dynasties period since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and as far as possible, based on limited research results, the discipline system of archaeology of the Three Kingdoms and Two Jin Dynasties and the Southern and Northern Dynasties was constructed, providing important guidance for the future development direction of the discipline.

This year's archaeology of the Three Kingdoms, two Jin Dynasties, and the Southern and Northern Dynasties is represented by the archaeological excavation and research of the ruins of the capital city, and at the same time, the archaeological research of local city sites has gradually been carried out. The research results of tomb archaeology and handicraft archaeology are more prominent, and the publication of some theoretical articles has pointed out the direction for the scientific research of archaeology.
