The U.S. Capitol was evacuated on Wednesday night after police tracked down an aircraft suspected it most likely threatened the security of the Capitol, the Mirror reported in the early hours of April 21.
As a result of this security threat, most of the Capitol building has been emptied, including the Capitol Building, Visitor Center, Hart Building, Dexter Building, Russell Building, Cannon Building, Langworth Building, Rayborn Building, as well as the Library of Congress, which includes the Jefferson Building, madison Building, and Adams Building, as well as the National Botanic Gardens.
A statement released by the Capitol Hill Police Department said they had been tracking an aircraft that could pose a threat to Capitol Hill. Just minutes later, though, they issued a statement saying no threat had been detected.
The Capitol Hill Police Department subsequently confirmed on Twitter that Capitol Hill was not threatened. The tweet read: "The evacuation of the Houses of Parliament tonight was made out of due concern for safety. More details will be posted later. ”
White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich of Fox News said capitol staff received evacuation notices by phone. "Capitol Hill workers received an early warning call saying: Evacuate now, a plane is a great threat to the Capitol." Heinrich wrote on his Twitter account.
Rumor has it that the evacuation decision was caused by a parachute that fell into a national park when a baseball league game was about to begin.
According to Kiro 7 News, the plane that was locked was a military plane, crewed by the U.S. Army's Golden Knights, who were performing skydiving before a baseball league game in the national park.
Politician Andrew Desiderio also referred to the incident on Twitter, calling it a "huge communication misunderstanding." Police then announced that they were arranging for personnel to re-enter the Capitol.
