The latest news shows that KTM is updating the 1290 Super Duke GT, and it is important to know that the current version of the update is less than a year old. This update seems to be a redesign from scratch, all of which suggests that KTM's family design is indeed about to be replaced.
The most obvious change in the new model is the redesign of the front of the car, with new headlights, windshields and more exaggerated side brackets, which are somewhat similar to the style of the new 990 Duke. We all know that the front face shape of the Duke series has always been split, and it is clear that the new design has a relatively large, lens-like single lamp in the center part of the front! In addition, there appears to be a cruise-controlled radar unit in the front area, similar to the Super Adventure S.
The new body also appears to feature a new fuel tank design, likely with increased capacity for range, and the new 1290 Super Duke GT is equipped with a larger radiator. The exhaust pipes have also been redesigned, but the engine looks almost unchanged. However, it is not excluded that KTM may give this engine a slight increase in displacement to help offset the loss of power caused by emissions restrictions.
The rear part of the car does not appear to be equipped with a rear-facing radar unit, and the frame has undergone some modifications that may reduce the weight a little or facilitate the installation of new trims. Judging from the KTM new car exposed in the recent period, it seems that abandoning the "scar face" is already the trend of the times, so what the new Duke family design will eventually look like, it will take a while to know.
