Second, shrimp farmers use antibiotics in large quantities due to bacteria and parasites, resulting in superbugs that are resistant to antibiotics. Another difficulty is that more than 75% of the shrimp industry value chain depends on buyers. Finally, the high cost of breeding. Because most companies that produce shrimp feed, most of the raw materials must be imported. At the same time, shrimp feed accounts for 55%-60% of the cost of farming.
