Falling in love with someone in three seconds? Is it possible?

During the Spring Festival, ELLE gained

A mysterious exclusive interview opportunity,

We were able to predate the official announcement

Meet the new ambassador of Miss Coco's fragrance collection.

The moment it was connected to the French online conference,

Whitney Peak

waved his hand a little shyly,

Then his eyes widened: "Ah! My earrings! ”

She hurriedly put on her Chanel earrings and smiled brightly.

Across the screen, I couldn't help but laugh.

This is the youngest I've ever interviewed

Also the strangest Chanel brand spokesperson,

But I already seem to have a hunch of love at first sight.

Compared to meticulous and flawless female stars,

The Whitney Pique in front of her seems rusty but real.

A 20-year-old rising star in the film industry

Before that, I admit that my impression of Whitney Peake was limited to the "Gossip Girl" reboot and the Chanel 22 handbag advertising blockbuster. Although she also starred in the Anne Fletcher-directed film Witches Are Crazy 2 and is about to work on 3 new films, Whitney Peake is still a fresh face. And the title of spokesperson for Chanel's Mademoiselle Coco fragrance line will add a touch to the actress's resume, if you know that the previous spokesperson was Keira Knightley.

For female stars, becoming the face of the Chanel brand is like joining a superhero movie, or even more glamorous. Born in Kampala, Whitney Peake, of Ugandan descent, has no prominent background. After moving to Canada with his family at the age of 9, he began to audition into the entertainment industry, moved to New York at the age of 17, collaborated with Chanel at the age of 18, and was less than 20 years old, winning the coveted perfume endorsement. This is even more magical than any big heroine cool drama, even Whitney Peake herself said that she did not dare to dream of it. "When I heard that Chanel wanted me to shoot a Miss Coco perfume commercial, I thought: Wouldn't it? I've always been the kind of person who puts expectations low so that even if it backfires, it's not too disappointing. I didn't expect that I actually made a commercial, it was all 'crazy'! I'm so excited to have this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Thousands of miles away, we could all feel the excitement of Whitney Peake, her eyes brighter than the New Year's fireworks that flashed outside the window.

Unique personality, multiple charms

So why her? The material I read before the interview described Whitney Peake's lively and unrestrained temperament as infectious, curious, unconventional, and in line with Coco Chanel's personality. After just a few words, I was completely infected by her enthusiasm, and her varied expression, shining, humility and confidence, reminded me of what Madame Chanel described herself: "Bold and shy are the two extremes of my personality." "She has the innocence of a young person and the maturity of an over-age, and in the process of becoming a woman, she is not afraid to show herself, whether it is beautiful or vulnerable.

Chanel Mademoiselle Coco perfume

The Mademoiselle Coco fragrance collection is also an unpredictable fragrance creation, with fresh citrus fruit notes intertwined with sensual patchouli like a galloping variation. "Miss Coco perfume is elegant and rebellious, modern and classical, and I like to give that elusive feeling." Whitney Picke pondered for a moment, trying to find an adjective that applied to both the perfume and herself, "like a painting with white space." She was enlightened.

Whether you are familiar with her or not,

Please take a few minutes,

COME AND GET TO KNOW HER WITH ELLE.

We're curious about you, but tell us first, after Keira Knightley, your ad will appear all over the world, what does it feel like?

I've always been a fan of Keira Knightley and she's endorsed Miss Coco perfume for a long time, so of course I'm stressed to be the new spokesperson, but I try not to think about it and just enjoy it all. At this time of our interview, there was no official announcement, so everyone around me, including me, was excited and expectant. I was also a little nervous and didn't know what was going to change in my life, and I wasn't sure if I was ready to see my face at airports around the world, but it should be a great experience.

As a representative of Generation Z, how do you understand the concept of being Miss Coco? Miss Coco is a woman who has the courage to control her own destiny, what kind of woman do you want to be?

To be Miss Coco for me is to allow myself to make mistakes, to show myself, not to care about what others think, not to rest on my laurels. I think Gen Zers have a lot of curiosity, dare to try, dare to speak up. We receive countless new messages every day, and we have the right to question them.

What other similarities do you have with Miss Coco?

Our purpose, our determination, and our sense of boundaries. I think what kind of people we will be is inseparable from the people we meet. I will enjoy life to the fullest, feel loved, free and needed, but at the same time I will have my own boundaries and will not bend or follow the flow. So I like to be with people I like, and like Ms. Chanel, I build my own social circle with like-minded people, and influence, inspire and grow with each other.

But you grew up in the age of online media, so that the boundaries of social can expand infinitely, and how do you live with it?

Online social media is just a convenient tool for me to get information, to share, to keep in touch with friends who don't often meet in my hometown. But frankly, I also think it's a bit dangerous and needs to be kept at a proper distance. For mobile phones, in fact, I often play games with friends without looking at the phone for 30 minutes, and I still have to have some self-control.

What have you been addicted to lately? I heard you love desserts.

I've always loved desserts, and I should say I have no resistance to sugar. Of course, I know that too much sugar intake is not good for health, so I still have to control it.

What impressed you when shooting a Miss Coco perfume commercial?

I shot in New York and Paris, and went to many beautiful scenes, including the Eiffel Tower and my "apartment in Paris". What's especially interesting is that a group of great actors are my "friends", and we enjoy some of the things that girlfriends will do at home, such as putting on makeup and drinking coffee together, as if we were shooting a short movie. The whole process and experience made me unforgettable. To be honest, I didn't even feel like I was working on the set because I was really happy. Everyone on set was excited to be part of the project. Even if we are tired sometimes, we will motivate each other to find the best situation.

What appeals to you most about Miss Coco's perfume?

It is the enigmatic multifaceted nature of this perfume, rich and appropriate, not so floral and fragrant, like a painting with white space. You can wear casual clothes during the day and go shopping with this perfume for easy shopping, or you can wear it in a dress at night. It can be adapted to any occasion.

The beauty of perfume is that it is connected to memory, do you remember your first Chanel perfume?

I remember it well, it was a birthday present for my mother. I wanted to give her a classic and valuable gift, and the perfect choice was a Chanel fragrance. I walked around the store and quickly found the right fragrance for her, but at the same time I was also attracted to another fragrance. I struggled, I couldn't afford two bottles of perfume, and I couldn't bear the smell I liked. In the end I bought what I liked, and then every day before school I sneaked into her room to "borrow" it, hoping she wouldn't find out, but she always knew. That perfume in memory is Miss Coco.

Perfume is an invisible accessory that can also show your personal style, how would you describe your style?

I completely agree that the perfume you choose also represents your personal style. Miss Coco's unpredictability hints at my elusiveness, sometimes I like to wear comfortable tops, loose jeans with gorgeous accessories, and sometimes I dress very femininely. Being 20 years old allows me to experiment with different styles to my heart's content.

You quoted Nina Simone's famous quote, "Freedom is fearless for you," what inspired you?

This is a golden phrase that I love and was blown away when I first heard it. I'm constantly thinking about how to be fearless, how to be truly free. I don't want to be what others want me to be, and being myself makes me the freest and most comfortable. But at the same time we also need self-discipline, and from a very young age my mother taught me that I had to be responsible for myself, and I am grateful. When I'm 60, if I want to be younger, I might take out Mademoiselle Coco perfume to remind me of the glory days.

It turned out to be her! ELLE speaks exclusively with the new spokesperson of Mademoiselle Cocoa's fragrance collection

Although Whitney Peake and Coco Chanel lived entirely in two eras, they shared a belief in their own opinions, independence and freedom. We remember that it was Mademoiselle Chanel who gave women the image of freedom, freeing their arms and legs so that they could move freely and laugh and eat comfortably. And now, the new Miss Coco will break stereotypes again. Smart and confident, unique personality, clear goals, she knows what she wants to be in the future, it may be a crazy version of Miss Coco, or it may be a sensual version of Miss Coco, but what is certain is that this is definitely not boring Miss Coco. After the interview, after hanging up, I can't wait to pull out my Miss Coco perfume, is this the charm of the spokesperson?

Why her? Why not?

About a month after the interview, we finally saw the Miss Coco perfume commercial. Whitney Peake burst into tears at the end of the film, which is moving. The amorous and sincere new Miss Coco lives up to expectations.
