Trinh Nguyen, a 40-year-old mother, was sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for killing her two sons, Nelson and Jeffrey Tini, aged 9 and 13.

It happened on a calm morning on May 2, 2022, when local residents discovered an incredible tragedy in a house in the town of Upper Makefield.
Ms. Nguyen shot the children at gunpoint while they were asleep, and then attempted to kill a neighbor, the children's cousin, but fortunately failed to shoot due to a malfunctioning gun.
Ms. Nguyen then fled to New Jersey in a pickup van in an attempt to end her life by taking drugs. Near the United Methodist Church in Washington's Crossing, she was found hiding in her car and arrested by police.
