A team of officers from Thailand's 2nd Provincial Police District, led by the Deputy Commander, successfully executed search warrants at multiple locations. The operation began two days ago after about 100 firearms were seized from Sumet's residence in the Pansang district of Prachinbu.

The search operation targeted Sumet's main residence and three other nearby residences, as well as a site in Chachoengsao Province. Police seized 111 firearms and 10,000 rounds of ammunition.

During the interrogation, Sumet claimed that all the weapons belonged to him because he liked to collect them. He has long been buying guns from the public, but there are no channels to sell them, resulting in a large accumulation of guns in his possession.

Upon inspection, it was found that some of the seized firearms were registered in the name of Sumet, some were registered in the names of different individuals, and some of the firearms were not registered. As a result, all guns were confiscated, and charges related to gun laws were filed against Sumet, according to Khao Sod.

The operation underscores the authorities' commitment to cracking down on illegal gun ownership. This incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of unregulated gun ownership and the importance of enforcing gun laws to maintain public safety.
