Recently, the Public Security Bureau of Wanzhou District, Chongqing Municipality successfully detected a case of "husband and wife counterfeiting currency", arrested 2 criminal suspects, and seized a large number of counterfeit currency raw materials and counterfeiting equipment.
At present, the couple has been detained on suspicion of counterfeiting currency.

In August 2023, the Economic Investigation Detachment of the Wanzhou District Public Security Bureau of Chongqing Municipality received clues from superiors: Zhang, a resident of the district, had repeatedly purchased special anti-counterfeiting paper, special printing oil and other tools online, suspecting that he was suspected of making counterfeit money.
After receiving the clue, the detachment quickly thought of a related information, in the past two years in Wanzhou and its surrounding districts and counties from time to time found the same serial number counterfeit money (the serial number is generally composed of two or three English letters marking the printing batch and the Arabic numeral serial number at the back, equivalent to the "identity card" of the renminbi), the police have always suspected that Wanzhou has a counterfeiting den, but with a lot of investigative measures have not been able to find the source of the counterfeit money.
In view of the seriousness of the case, the leaders of the detachment quickly assigned experienced police officers to investigate the case under the guidance of the Economic Investigation Corps of the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Through continuous squatting and tracking for many days, the police found that Zhang and his wife Qin would go out together in the early morning almost every day, either to catch up with the surrounding towns and towns, or to go shopping at the farmers' market in the urban area.
"During the investigation, we found that every time the couple went to a market, Qin came forward, 'patronized' 3 to 5 points, bought all kinds of agricultural products of low value, and every time they paid it must be a 100-yuan bill, never using change, and the behavior was very suspicious. The police said that during this period, Zhang was always "watching" not far away. After his wife Qin left, he would "patrol" back and forth at the scene many times, and waited until the end of the scene before leaving.
He will go back and forth on the field several times, keeping an eye on the reactions of several victims, and once someone identifies the counterfeit money, he will immediately come forward to exchange it, and he will not rush to this scene in the near future. In the end, when the people on the field were gone, he was relieved to leave. The police said that the husband and wife sang and I appeared on the stage, and used the trick of "exchanging counterfeit money for real money" to harm the masses.
In view of the couple's strong sense of anti-investigation, the police who handled the case went out at 5 a.m. to squat, follow the suspect in the morning, and look for the victim in the afternoon.
"After several days of tracking, we obtained a number of counterfeit notes, all of which were determined to be the same serial number. According to the police, through the analysis and judgment of counterfeit money, it is clear that it is computer printing, and then the secondary processing is carried out, the production process is many, the process is quite complex, and the last process also uses "file", so as to strengthen the concave and convex sense of paper money, and increase the simulation degree of counterfeit money.

In the end, after more than two months and interviews with hundreds of victims, the police finally thoroughly figured out the suspect's modus operandi and den, and confirmed the facts of the crime.
On October 25, 2023, the police raided the counterfeiting den of Zhang and his wife's home in a small community in the city, arrested 2 suspects on the spot, and seized a number of raw materials for counterfeit currency, 2 printers, and 2 computers. So far, this family "workshop-style" counterfeit money counterfeiting den has been eliminated in one fell swoop.

The police found that in the five years from 2018 to 2023, Zhang and his wife made a large number of counterfeit money at home many times. Every morning, they visit towns, towns, urban markets, and nearby districts and counties, specifically looking for elderly people with poor recognition skills to use counterfeit money. Footprints have almost traveled to all towns and towns in Wanzhou, urban farmers' markets, and even set foot in Kaizhou, Yunyang, Zhongxian and other surrounding districts and counties, using a total of more than 50 yuan of counterfeit money, which has caused an extremely bad impact on the society. However, because of the unique modus operandi of the family's "workshop-style" mom-and-pop shop, and the fact that it is not sold "self-produced and sold", it is difficult for people to detect.

Article 170 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that anyone who counterfeits currency shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than 10 years and shall also be fined; in any of the following circumstances, he shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than 10 years or life imprisonment and shall also be fined or have his property confiscated: (1) the ringleader of a counterfeit currency syndicate; (2) the amount of counterfeit currency is particularly huge; (3) there are other particularly serious circumstances.
It is a normal pursuit to get rich, but it is not permissible to seek ill-gotten gains through opportunism. In addition, if you accidentally receive counterfeit money, you should immediately hand it over to the local bank or public security organ, and when you see someone else holding or using counterfeit money, you should also persuade them to hand it over or report it to the public security organ.
