From the 16th to the 18th, before the main impact of the cold wave, the temperature in most parts of the central and eastern regions rose significantly. Around the 19th, the daily maximum temperature in most parts of Jiangnan, South China, Guizhou, Yunnan and other places was 25~28 °C, and some areas in Jiangxi, Fujian and other places could reach about 30 °C, close to or break through the historical extreme.
Among the big cities, the highest temperature in Nanchang on the 19th can reach 29 °C, and the highest temperature in Fuzhou on the 20th is 31 °C, both of which are expected to challenge the highest record in the local observation history in February. In addition, the highest temperature of 27 °C in Hangzhou and Changsha on the 19th will also be a rare warm heat in the same period.
From the 17th to the 22nd, affected by the cold wave weather, the temperature in most parts of the mainland will drop by 6~12 °C from north to south, and the temperature in some areas will drop by 12~18 °C, and the local temperature in Inner Mongolia, Northeast China, and Central China will reach more than 20 °C. Around the 23rd, the minimum temperature 0 °C line will be pressed south to the southern part of Jiangsu and Anhui to the southern part of Hunan and southern Guizhou.
The cold wave will bring seasonal cooling to many places in the south, such as Nanchang, Hangzhou, and Changsha, and the maximum temperature will drop to only single digits around the 22nd, and the temperature will fluctuate greatly in a few days.
Affected by the cold wave, most areas of the mainland have 4~6 winds and 7~9 gusts, and the wind strength in the Xinjiang Shankou area can reach about 12; from the 19th to the 24th, there are 6~8 strong winds and 9~10 gusts in the eastern and southern sea areas. From the 24th, the temperature in the central and eastern regions will rise from north to south.

Zhang Fanghua, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, reminded that during the cold wave, the traffic meteorological risk in the eastern part of Northeast and Northwest China, North China, Huangzhun and most areas in the south of the Yangtze River is high, and it is prone to snow and ice accumulation on the road, causing traffic congestion. The public is advised to pay close attention to the latest information released by the local meteorological department and transportation department, make travel arrangements in advance, prevent the adverse effects of slippery, icy and low visibility weather on traffic travel, and take measures to protect against cold and warmth.
