On April 3, the Consulate General in Dubai held a reception for the arrival of Consul General Ou Boqian and the 2024 Ramadan group meeting. Nearly 400 people attended the event, including Ambassador Zhang Yiming, Consul General of the UAE to Dubai, Abdullah Saleh, Deputy Minister of Economy of the UAE, Lieutenant General Khalid Mansour, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police Headquarters, important members of the royal family of Abu Dhabi and the royal families of Dubai and Sharjah, government officials, local mainstream media, overseas Chinese in Dubai, Chinese-funded institutions, international students, Chinese-language media, and representatives of Muslim overseas Chinese.
Ambassador Zhang Yiming pointed out in his speech that in recent years, under the common concern and guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Arab relations have ushered in the best period in history and become a model for China's relations with regional countries. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Arab States, and the cooperation between China and the Arab States at a new starting point has broad prospects and unlimited potential. China is ready to step up efforts with the UAE to go both ways, and promote new development in China-UAE relations in the spirit of waiting for no time. Ambassador Zhang Yiming extended warm congratulations to Consul General Ou Boqian on his new appointment, and believed that Consul General Ou Boqian would lead all the staff of the Consulate General to make unremitting efforts for the development of China-Arab relations, and hoped that everyone would strongly support the work of Consul General Ou Boqian and jointly promote the work of the consular district to a new level.
Deputy Minister Abdullah welcomed Consul General Ou Boqian to his new position, saying that the practical cooperation between China and Argentina has achieved fruitful results in various fields, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Afghanistan will continue to actively promote practical economic and trade cooperation between China and Argentina to better benefit the people of the two countries.
Consul General Ou Boqian said that on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Arab States and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, she is deeply aware of the glorious mission and heavy responsibility of serving as the 11th Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Dubai. Under the leadership of the Chinese Embassy in Afghanistan, the Consulate General will continue to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields and contribute wisdom and strength to the development of the China-Arab comprehensive strategic partnership.
At the event, Ambassador Zhang Yiming and Consul General Ou Boqian had cordial exchanges with guests from all walks of life in China and Arab countries, and the atmosphere was festive and peaceful. The overseas Chinese attending the meeting expressed that under the unity and leadership of the Chinese embassy and consulates in Afghanistan, they will firmly safeguard national unity, continuously enhance the friendship between the two peoples, and contribute to the promotion of economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Argentina.
