When traditional intangible cultural heritage meets children's infinite creativity, what kind of brilliant sparks will bloom? On Children's Day, we witnessed this wonderful blend. Nearly 100 children gathered at the Xi'an Chang'an Belt and Road Culture and Art Center to experience the charm of Shaanxi's traditional intangible cultural heritage culture.
At the beginning of the event, the exquisite stone paintings attracted the children's attention. The children were even more excited to learn that they could also create their own stone paintings. Teacher Mu Xiaohui, the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage stone painting and president of the Chinese Stone Painting Research Association, personally taught the children and explained the origin, historical inheritance and painting skills of stone painting in simple terms. The children listened with relish and couldn't wait to try it out.
Subsequently, Teacher Mu Xiaohui assigned a special task for the children - to draw the cartoon image of the Monkey King in the "Vientiane" scene in "Unbounded Chang'an". The children picked up their paintbrushes and threw themselves into their creation. Although the work is a little immature, each stroke is full of innocence and imagination. After completing the work, the children proudly showed it to their teachers and parents, their faces filled with satisfaction and joy.
The climax of the event was watching China's first large-scale resident concept performance, "Unbounded Chang'an". This work, with Zhang Yimou as the chief director and Sha Xiaolan as the chief producer, takes Shaanxi's intangible cultural heritage as the cornerstone, combines innovative stage design and cutting-edge scientific and technological means, and brings a visual feast to the audience. The children were deeply attracted by the high-tech stage effects and deeply felt the unique charm of Shaanxi's intangible cultural heritage. After the performance, the children expressed their hope to participate in more such activities in the future to further understand and inherit the excellent traditional culture of their motherland.
Xi'an Chang'an Le Belt and Road Culture and Art Center has held "Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Day" activities for many times, aiming to let more people get in touch with and understand the traditional culture of Shaanxi. In the future, the center will continue to hold similar activities to stimulate the public's love and awareness of intangible cultural heritage, so that intangible cultural heritage can shine with new brilliance in the new era.
