Maybe sometimes, especially my first hamstring, could have been avoided. But you have to accept the reality that this is the end of the day, and I have to move on. For me, the most important thing now is to give it all out to get fit and help England win the European Championships.'

Commenting on his chances, Shaw explained: "I really wanted to play my first fight, and I can't lie. But I don't want to rush it, because in reality, I might only get one chance. If I feel something, it's over, and I don't want that to happen again."

Manchester United have recorded a Premier League-high 60 injury absences this season, which Ten Hag has cited as the main reason for his poor performance this season.
