In a vibrant spring, we are back in the year 2000. Li Yingying was born in Heilongjiang, and her parents had a soft spot for sports. Time flies, and in a blink of an eye, Li Yingying is already six years old. She began to participate in the volleyball training camp of Qiqihar Primary School and showed excellent left-handed smashing skills, which attracted great attention and praise from Wang Baoquan, the head coach of the Tianjin women's volleyball team.
For the sake of their daughter's future, Li Yingying's parents made a difficult decision. When she was only nine years old, they sent her to the Tianjin women's volleyball training base, which is 1,400 kilometers away from her hometown of Heilongjiang. In order to support their daughter's career development, they not only endured the pain of separation, but also firmly supported her monotonous and hard training life every day.
When she reached 1.8 meters tall in 2009, her volleyball skills improved rapidly. If she wants to continue to improve, she needs to train with a professional team, but there is no professional volleyball team in Heilongjiang, which makes everyone troubled. At this time, coach Liang Chunsheng thought of the Tianjin women's volleyball team and tried to get in touch with them. After communication, the other party agreed to let 10-year-old Li Yingying go to a trial for a period of time to assess her strength.
She came to study and live in a strange city alone, but soon began to regret it and cried every day. In June 2010, she made up her mind to give up volleyball and return to her parents, an idea she expressed to her mother. Her mother tried to comfort her, but found that she could not convince her, so she could only tell her former coach Liang Chunsheng.
In the early morning of the next day, the coach rushed to Tianjin and enlightened her, and she finally dispelled the idea of giving up, determined to get good grades and make her parents happy. From then on, she still cried, but she wouldn't give up easily. She was determined to buy a house in Tianjin for her parents, so that her parents could visit her.
Shine on the field
In 2015, Li Yingying shined in the Taicang National Women's Volleyball Championship and won wide acclaim for her outstanding performance. She had reached a height of 1.92 meters at that time, and was known as a "talented main attacker" and became one of the representatives of outstanding post-00 athletes. This year, her performance was impressive, her achievements were extraordinary, and she attracted a lot of attention.
In 2016, as a core member of the Tianjin women's volleyball team, Li Yingying participated in the National Women's Volleyball Championship and showed excellent competitive state. She became famous in the game, scoring 804 points in a single game, becoming the overall scoring leader, helping Tianjin win the championship for the third time in a row, defeating two strong opponents from Jiangsu and Shandong. In 2018, Li Yingying was selected for the Chinese national women's volleyball team for the first time and went to Japan to participate in the women's volleyball championship, marking a new milestone in her career.
Since Li Yingying was selected for the 14-member list of the Chinese women's volleyball team to compete in the 2018 World Women's Volleyball Championship on September 24, 2018, she has shown her potential and strength. On June 6, 2019, in the final match of the 2019 World Women's Volleyball League in Hong Kong, China, Li Yingying scored 14 points as a substitute attacker, helping the Chinese women's volleyball team reverse the Italian women's volleyball team 3-2 and win the Hong Kong station with a record of 7 consecutive wins.
Li Yingying got the opportunity to start in the two games against the Italian women's volleyball team and the Argentine women's volleyball team and became the main offensive force of the team. In February 2022, Li Yingying was once again selected for the national team training camp list of the Chinese women's volleyball team. On May 11, she was selected for the 25-man squad of the Chinese women's volleyball team for the 2022 National Women's Volleyball League. In the same month, she was also selected for the 2022 World Volleyball League's list of the top 10 rising stars to follow.
Now 24 years old, I don't talk about love
Li Yingying is 24 years old this year, and many female athletes have begun to look for boyfriends when they reach this age. Li Yingying just wants to play ball wholeheartedly and doesn't think about love for the time being. Before the Spring Festival, Li Yingying paid off the remaining mortgage. Without the burden of the mortgage, she felt relaxed and happy, and slept soundly that night. This Spring Festival, Li Yingying accompanied her parents to celebrate the New Year in Tianjin. The whole family is very happy because they don't have the trouble of paying a mortgage.
In June 2024, Zhu Ting will return to the Women's Volleyball World League in Hong Kong, marking her return. Li Yingying and Zhu Ting partnered to form a world-class main offensive line combination. Despite the impact of age and injuries, Zhu Ting's offensive power is not as strong as in the past, and Cai Bin decided to position her as a small main attacker. Zhu Ting is responsible for receiving 6 rounds of passes on the court, and her defense, small ball, tandem and blocking skills are excellent.
As of June 16, 2024, after the end of the Women's Volleyball World League Hong Kong Station, Li Yingying, Zhu Ting, Wang Yuanyuan, Yuan Xinyue, Gong Xiangyu, Wang Mengjie and Diao Linyu and other 7 main players decided not to participate in the Women's Volleyball World League Finals, but to stay in Beijing to prepare for the Paris Olympics. With just over 30 days to go until the start of the Paris Olympics, Li Yingying and her teammates are training hard to meet the challenges of the Olympic arena in the best possible condition.
The golden years of athletes are limited, and Li Yingying does not want to fall in love for the time being. She is dedicated to playing. By the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Li Yingying will be 28 years old. As long as there are no major injuries, it is entirely possible for her to participate in this Olympics. Li Yingying is confident that she can help the Chinese women's volleyball team get a ticket to the Paris Olympics and achieve satisfactory results to make up for her regrets at the Tokyo Olympics.
