Less than a week after announcing the new world record of 34.6% crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cells at the SNEC exhibition in Shanghai, LONGi has made a new breakthrough in the efficiency of crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cells.

On June 19, local time, LONGi announced that the commercial M6 crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cell developed by the LONGi tandem team achieved a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 30.1%, which is 28.6% higher than that of the previous technical route, after being independently certified by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Cell Research (Fraunhofer ISE), an authoritative certification body in the field of solar cells The record increased by 1.5 percentage points, marking a breakthrough in the commercial application of crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cell technology.

While continuing to explore the efficiency limit of tandem cells, LONGi's R&D team will simultaneously carry out research on the mass production technology of tandem cells for commercial applications from October 2023. Only 6 months later, the company has overcome two key problems: the preparation of large-area perovskite thin films in the air and ultra-low temperature metallization, and combined with the research process experience of prototype devices, it has achieved a photoelectric conversion efficiency of more than 30% for the first time on commercial-size crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cell devices.

Crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cells have a theoretical ultimate efficiency of up to 43%, which is considered to be the next generation of ultra-efficient solar cells after monocrystalline silicon back-contact cells (BC), and is an emerging photovoltaic technology that is being studied by the global photovoltaic industry. LONGi's breakthroughs in prototype devices and wafer-level tandem cells not only redefine the efficiency limit of tandem cells at both ends, but also take a key step towards the industrialization of tandem cells, helping LONGi continue to lead in the two mainstream tracks of crystalline silicon single-junction cells and tandem cells. At present, LONGi is the "double champion" of the two world records of cell efficiency in crystalline silicon single-junction cells (27.30%) and crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cells (34.6%).

This is the European premiere of LONGi's BC all-scenario products.

For example, on May 7, LONGi released a new generation of ultra-high-value module Hi-MO 9 in Madrid, Spain, based on high-efficiency HPBC 2.0 cell technology, integrating a variety of advanced technologies, with core advantages such as higher power generation capacity, lower BOS cost and higher reliability, with a maximum power of 660W and a conversion efficiency of up to 24.43%.

The Hi-MO 9 module was launched and received a strong response from the market. "The company's orders in hand are close to 1GW, and the customer order backlog has exceeded 5GW." "The company originally planned to supply about 10GW of Hi-MO 9 products globally in 2025, but according to the positive signals released by the current market, it is necessary to increase production capacity to meet the rapidly growing market demand," She said. ”

"Don't lead, don't expand production" is the principle that LONGi has always adhered to. With the maturity of new technologies, LONGi's BC expansion pace is also accelerating. According to reports, in the next three years, LONGi's annual monocrystalline silicon wafer production capacity is expected to reach 200 GW, of which Terry's silicon wafer production capacity accounts for more than 80%, BC cell annual production capacity will reach 100 GW, and monocrystalline module annual production capacity will reach 150 GW. The Hi-MO 9 is expected to reach mass production in the fourth quarter of this year.

Awarded the third-party authoritative "three certificates" hydrogen energy certification

On June 20, DEKRA, the world's largest independent non-listed professional inspection, testing and certification organization, issued the DEKRA K196 standard AOC (Assessment of Compliance) certificate and the DEKRA carbon footprint verification certificate for LONGi's hydrogen hydrogen water electrolysis hydrogen production system and alkaline electrolyzer respectively.

Among them, the DEKRA K196 standard AOC certificate is based on strict evaluation criteria, and comprehensively certifies the safety, stability, DC power consumption and other key performance indicators of the 1000 standard cubic meters/hour water electrolysis hydrogen production system that has been continuously operated and commercialized, and two certificates are issued to prove that the equipment indicators of LONGi hydrogen energy water electrolysis hydrogen production system meet the standards, and the performance is safe, reliable, efficient, economical and trustworthy.

According to the ISO14067 and PAS2050 standards, DEKRA verification results show that the carbon emissions of LONGi's ALK Hi1-1000 standard cubic meters per hour series alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production products from the cradle to the gate are 305.88kgCO₂/(Nm³/h), which is far lower than the limit of 800kgCO₂/(Nm³/h) of the hydrogen energy leader action.
