This is the most abundant business category and the most complex international offshore oil and gas field general contracting project undertaken by Chinese enterprises, marking a new level of general contracting capacity of offshore engineering in mainland China.

The Qatar ISND5-2 project is invested and developed by QatarEnergy and is located 80 kilometers east of the Qatar Peninsula in the Arabian Gulf, with a maximum water depth of about 35 meters. The scope of work of the project includes the design, procurement, construction, transportation, installation, commissioning and renovation of in-service platform facilities for 3 wellhead platforms weighing about 1,300 tons, 9 offshore pipes, 5 umbilical cables and 4 underwater skids. "The overall construction period of the project is 43 months, and the contract amount is about 2.216 billion Qatari riyals, equivalent to about 4.437 billion yuan. The variety of project business and the complexity of the work content have set a record for international offshore oil and gas field general contracting projects contracted by the mainland. It is reported that the construction area of the ISND5-2 project platform in Qatar has dense submarine pipelines, many umbilical cable crossings, and 247 cross processing points, making it extremely difficult to plan and design sea pipeline routes. In addition, the spatter area of the jacket is all covered with Monel alloy plates, and the minimum wall thickness of the conduit is only 12.5 mm, which is very prone to welding deformation, which poses great challenges to construction and quality control. Liu Kai, construction manager of CNOOC Engineering's Qatar ISND5-2 project, said that through management pre-positioning and risk prediction, the team formulated a detailed and thorough project plan and quality management plan to promote the project to be carried out with high standards and high quality.

This project is the second Qatar oil and gas field construction project contracted by CNOOC Engineering after the Qatar NFA project and the NFPS COMP2 project.
