On June 1, it was the "second seventh" of Yu's death, and the period of accompanying the library was delivered. Yu Zhai received the post and was hanged. According to Han Chinese customs, the main ceremony is held at 10 a.m. Please wish Yuyuan "blessing the Hongjie", Liu Zhiyuan and Li Xizhi will accompany the left and right. On that day, hanging guests from all sides came one after another, including Pan Yugui, Li Yazhai, Zhu Fuchang, Ling Fuyuan, Ji Shi'an, Gui Yueting, etc. Liyuan Jieshang Xiaoyun, Cheng Yanqiu, Yang Baozhong, Yang Baosen, Liu Yanfang, Wan Zihe, Zhao Yankui, Ding Yongli, Wang Fushan (Wang Changlin's son) and hundreds of others.

Yu believed in Buddhism during his lifetime, and once took refuge in the old abbot Quan Lang of Lianhua Temple, became a layman who studied Buddhism at home, and had an "indissoluble bond" with major monasteries in Beijing. Therefore, many abbots of various temples came to worship. There are: Jietai Temple Deming, Tieshan Temple Baichuan, Zhichan, Baoguo Temple, Dizang Temple Fa Ling, Guanyin Temple Rupei, Fayuan Temple Tianwen, Guangming Temple Changping, Huayan Temple Zhishan, Changchun Temple Shenci, Guangji Temple Xianzong, Guanyin Temple Chunshan, Guangshan Temple Huisan, Sheng'an Temple Baolin, Chongxiao Temple Yuezong and so on about dozens. For a while, the yellow robe monk was full. This is an unprecedented grand occasion after the death of ordinary lay families. Yu Zhai has prepared three kinds of seats, halal seats, and plain seats, to entertain all guests.

The lamas of the Lama Temple, the Taoist priests of the Baiyun Temple, and the monks of Fayuan Temple and Longquan Temple take turns to chant sutras and confessions. Because Yu was a great contributor and a great benevolent person of Longquan Temple during his lifetime, the temple sent a Zen Sutra for a long day and a hall of alms for Yankou. At 7 o'clock in the evening, the merits of each altar were completed, and the send-off ceremony was held. It was praised by Huiling, the daughter-in-law of the Yu family; Mrs. Yu and her disciples Meng Xiaodong, Li Shaochun and dozens of others wore filial piety clothes to send each other, and the holy procession was full of vegetarians, which was really full of white streets. When the Hufang Bridge burned the warehouse, there were more than 1,000 onlookers, and the traffic was almost interrupted.

In the evening, when Yu's filial piety was holding the "Ci Ling" sacrifice, he suddenly heard that Yu's old father-in-law, Dr. Yao Wenqing, was critically ill. Mrs. Yu hurriedly sent someone to visit, and when she was already "Yi Zhen" (changing the auspicious bed). Gai Yao's death was so sad that the old illness was incurable. He passed away at 9 a.m. the next day (June 2), which was exactly the time when Yu's coffin came out, which can be described as a coincidence! As a result, Mrs. Yu had a funeral at both ends: her husband died in her mother-in-law's family, the funeral was not completed, and her father's death in her mother's family was really mourning.

Yu's June 2 (April 30 of the lunar calendar) was quoted at 9 a.m. All bars, covers, honor guards, and drum music are all undertaken by the Tongshun bar room in the Xuanwu Gate. A total of 4,500 yuan was spent. When he came out of the hall, a small bar of 32 people was used, and the coffin was covered with three red satin embroidered "coffin cover pieces", which became the form of "big bright card", and also let the old street and old square see this outstanding flower coffin colored wood.

The funeral list shows the top cover of the east entrance of the Tsubaki tree headline. Then through the West Liuli Factory and South Xinhua Street, in front of the original Normal University, the 64-person bar was upgraded, and a roll of red satin embroidered official cover was added. The eldest daughter Hui Ling also held the soul flag, and dropped the "auspicious basin" with her left hand in front of the bar. That is, as a formal starting bar. The whole class of barmen in a green coat and red trousers (only the barmen who should come out of the same bar room wear red trousers; The other barmen are all yellowed trousers).

At this moment, the Han deacon's five-and-a-half hall umbrellas, loose work, paper work, color pavilions, and ringing devices on South Xinhua Street have been discharged for more than a mile. Citizens watching the funeral, ants gather on both sides of the road, there is almost no gap in the cone. The funeral train passes along the West River, goes southbound to Qianmenwai Street, enters Xizhu City, and reaches Hufang Bridge. Next to the original Jinghua Building, there is a road sacrifice shed set up by the Liyuan Guild, and there are 4 pairs of Han flags in front of the shed; 4 pairs of gold deacons (ancient weapon models covered with wooden gold leaf lacquer) are inserted in the deacon's stand. A large drum gong stand is set up at the entrance of the shed, and the drummer plays for it. The altar in the shed is set up with a Taishi chair, covered with a tiger skin. There is a table in front of the sacrificial table.

When the funeral train arrived, Shang Xiaoyun, Zhao Yankui, Yu Yongli and others invited the statue of Yu from the shadow pavilion into the Taishi chair in the shed to be sacrificed. After the ceremony is completed, the funeral column is restored to the entrance of the vegetable market, and the west enters the West Brick Hutong, and the soul is temporarily stopped at the Fayuan Temple. Although the dust was flying that day and the weather was not good, there was never one person who sent the funeral, which shows the prestige of the Yu family in the theater industry.

Yu's coffin stopped at Fayuan Temple, and workers were hired to paint a number of roads with southern lacquer in order to prevent erosion after entering the soil. It is said that the high-quality southern lacquer used is very valuable, and it was stored in the early years, and if you buy it now, you need to spend five or six thousand dollars on counterfeit coins.

Yu's funeral cost a total of more than 20,000 yuan in counterfeit coins. Its scale is comparable to the funerals of Wang Changlin, Yang Xiaolou, Ye Chunshan, Wang Youchen and others, which has left a deep impression on the old Beijingers, and the seventy or eighty-year-old people who have lived in Nancheng still talk about these big funerals.
