According to historical and literary records, Yutian County did fall under the jurisdiction of Jizhou in history, which today roughly corresponds to the area around Jizhou District of Tianjin, but in ancient times its jurisdiction was much broader and included parts of present-day Hebei Province. This coincides with the plot in the Water Margin novel.

The name of Yutian County comes from the ancient legend "Yang Boyong Wuji Mountain Grows Jade", which reflects the rich historical and cultural heritage. From ancient times to the present, Yutian County has undergone many adjustments of administrative divisions.

9. Yuan Dynasty: Yutian County belongs to Jizhou, Dadu Road.

10. Ming and Qing dynasties: Ming belonged to Shuntian Prefecture Jizhou, early Qing Dynasty belonged to Yongping Prefecture, and later changed to Zhili Zunhua Prefecture. During the Qing Dynasty, the administrative subordination of Yutian County changed, and eventually it became directly under Hebei Province at the end of the Qing Dynasty.

11. Republic of China period: In 1913, Yutian County belonged to Bohai Province of Zhili Province, changed to Jinhai Road the following year, and directly belonged to Hebei Province in 1928.
