The summer vacation is approaching, and recent inspections have found that illegal competitions in primary and secondary schools around the country have risen, and some organizations and individuals have organized illegal competitions under the banner of early training of top-notch talents and evaluation of mathematical thinking innovation ability. Individual training institutions and educational self-media advocate that competitions are linked to students' evaluation and advancement, spreading rumors, selling anxiety, and illegally collecting money, harming children's physical and mental health. In response to the above problems, recently, the Provincial Department of Education has specially deployed in the province to continue to carry out in-depth governance of illegal competitions. In order to further build consensus on education, form a joint force in governance, and improve the effectiveness of governance, the Provincial Department of Education reminds students and parents:
1. Look at the competition rationally. The competition for primary and secondary school students aims to cultivate morality and cultivate people, and aims to explore students' strengths and hobbies and stimulate students' interest in learning, which is a public welfare education activity. The Ministry of Education clearly stipulates that "no competition award shall be used as the basis for admission or further education", and the competition is by no means a unique "stepping stone" for enrollment and a shortcut to further education. We should establish a correct outlook on education and success, distinguish between right and wrong, analyze the pros and cons, look at the competition rationally, return to the child's interest itself, avoid utilitarian mentality, do not engage in blind comparison, and cannot listen to rumors, needlessly consume energy and increase unnecessary burdens.
2. Distinguish between "white" and "black". At present, there are two types of "white list" competitions for primary and secondary school students in the province: one is the competition organized by the education administrative department to take the lead in issuing documents or participating in the issuance of documents; The second is the events in the "List of National Competitions for Primary and Secondary School Students in the 2022-2025 School Year" (attached) announced by the Ministry of Education. All other events are "black races" held in violation of regulations. Illegal competitions are often more hidden, there are greater security risks, once cheated, it is difficult to recover money, please parents must be vigilant, to avoid being deceived.
3. Remember "zero charges". According to the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education, the compliance competition will not charge any fees (including cost, cost, activity fee, registration fee, room and board fee, participation material fee, equipment fee, etc.), will not designate transportation, hotels, restaurants and other supporting services when participating in the competition, will not collect fees in disguised form by organizing training, study tours, winter camps, summer camps and other methods related to the competition, and will not promote or disguised sales of materials, books, auxiliary tools, equipment, materials and other commodities. It should be noted that the "zero fee" competition is not necessarily a compliance competition, and it is necessary to identify whether it is compliant against the "white list".
Fourth, resist the "black race". For illegal competition activities, especially those that charge fees under the banner of competition, it is necessary to keep your eyes open, be cautious in discernment, and consciously resist it, so as to prevent victims from being defrauded of money.
