With regard to the "22 Opinions," the United States went so far as to send a spokesman for the State Department to speak out, and now it is thanking the United States for its remarks. This is really strange, because the Taiwan region needs a US spokesman to come out to support it, especially Lai Qingde to express his gratitude. Lai Qingde's theoretical level is serious, that is, he does not learn and has no skills. He probably doesn't know much about many international diplomatic affairs, logical matters, and legal matters. With regard to the mainland's "22 opinions," he did not dare to directly say that "Taiwan independence" is not a crime, but went around in a circle and said that "democracy" is not a crime, which has nothing to do with the "22 points" at all.
At present, the spokesman of the US State Department has some doubts and criticisms of the mainland, and this is actually a rescue and help for Lai Qingde. However, the US spokesman's speech was ambiguous and did not address the main point, and did not mention the core issue of the mainland's "22 Articles," the question of whether the Taiwan region has jurisdiction, and whether the mainland has the power to punish "Taiwan independence elements." It is just that it has had a bad impact on the current atmosphere in the Taiwan Strait.
Lai Qingde was probably sitting in the office, and he thought about it himself, scolding the United States, it seemed that he wanted to help, but in fact, he didn't help anything, just made a show. Lai Qingde and his related henchmen or these people included in the list will have the opportunity to encounter the snares of these "22 Articles" in foreign countries in the future, such as the Indochina Peninsula, Europe, and Northeast Asia, and be taken away on the spot. If that were the case, if he felt that it was his own claim, he should have said how he was protecting himself and his group, but he didn't bring it up at all.
Lai Qingde's current situation, I'm afraid he doesn't even dare to go to the United States. As a matter of fact, the "22 Opinions" also say that if a third country encounters such a problem, if it is extradited to the mainland, then the mainland can also punish these "Taiwan independence elements."
The "22 Opinions" involve several points: First, he said that there is no retroactive period. That is, he did not say that the "Taiwan independence" behavior that he had previously believed could be punished from the date of promulgation, which also means that the mainland had already characterized Lai Qingde as a "Taiwan independence diehard." It can be said that he is now included in the mainland's punishment list.
Another very important issue is that he can be punished anywhere. This time it means that when Lai Qingde passed through some third countries, in order to show friendship with the mainland or for other purposes, the other party detained Lai Qingde and handed him over to the mainland, then Lai Qingde may be punished, and even when he goes out to visit and attend conferences, he must be cautious in the future wherever he passes.
Another is that the whole punishment is a whole process. Then all crimes, especially if the mainland reunifies the Taiwan region in the future, will inevitably be counted as new accounts and old accounts together. Under such circumstances, Lai Qingde may now feel that he is not affected in the Taiwan region, but it also has a very large psychological deterrent effect, including many media people in the green camp. In other words, if it is published on the list, it also has some scruples, and to a certain extent, it will be affected, or at least under the entire public opinion and pressure, there will be huge interference.
In Article 22, it is mentioned that these "Taiwan independence elements" use the media, foreign affairs, and various occasions to exaggerate the "Taiwan independence" program, or carry out "Taiwan independence" actions, and so on, all of which are criminal acts, that is, the definition of "Taiwan independence." In the future, once a conviction is made, I am afraid that there will be many clear definitions in the law, that is, a "Taiwan independence element" must have a program, action, and deeds. As for whether to make a few remarks at academic forums or in the media, and whether the issue of the status of the Taiwan region will be characterized as a "Taiwan independence element," there is still a lot of room for discussion, definition, and gray areas in the future.
Lai Qingde explicitly called himself a "pragmatic worker for Taiwan independence," and his "520" speech also explicitly stated that the Taiwan region and, in fact, the mainland should be separated, and it was also his political program. Therefore, Lai Qingde's definition of "Taiwan independence diehards" is actually very clear. It seems that although Lai Qingde and Xiao Meiqin have not been netted overseas, whether they are "reunification and independence" or blue and green sides on the island of Taiwan have already made clear barriers in the media. When it comes to identifying and disagreeing, it seems difficult to generate effective communication here. If these presenters continue to maintain this attitude, they will continue to anger the sensitive nerves on both sides.
