During this time, the little snake grew into a python, and after no one took care of it, it revealed its true nature, scooped the people in the area of Luoling Village, and bit a person to death. People had to bring the old couple back, hoping that they would subdue the python.
When the couple came to the place where pythons often haunted, they suddenly felt a gust of wind blowing, and the pythons had come to them. The old couple hurriedly shouted "Xiaoshan'er", and the python heard the sound and found that it was his savior, and then fell meekly to the ground. The old couple felt deeply guilty, thinking that they had not taught the little snake well to implicate the villagers, and in anger, they both crashed to death in front of the python. Seeing this, the python felt deeply remorseful. Knowing that it was his own evil deeds that led to the death of the old couple, he also chose to commit suicide in shame and grief and went with the old couple.
Because the python lost three lives in a row here, people called this place "hurt three mouths", and later pronounced the transliteration, and it was called "Shangshan". In order to commemorate this old couple, people respectfully call them Shangshan Grandpa and Shangshan Grandma, and the temple is also called "Shangshan Temple".
