According to Tripadvisor's website, the award is based on quality reviews and ratings posted by travelers around the world on the website to show the most popular tourist attractions for a total of 12 months from April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024.

Completed in 1931, the 102-story Empire State Building in New York won the 2024 Top Tourist Attraction with an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars from around 100,000 reviews. According to the official website, less than 1% of the site's 8 million attractions have reached this milestone.

The Empire State Building is 380 meters tall and has been the setting for many Hollywood movies.
