Youth sails, dreams set sail. In the early morning of June 30, more than 9,000 graduate graduates of the class of 2024 gathered in the playground of Tokyo University to sing.

At 8 o'clock in the morning, in the majestic and loud national anthem, the 2024 graduate graduation ceremony of Tsinghua University officially began. University leaders Qiu Yong, Li Luming, Xiang Botao, Yang Bin, Guo Yong, Zheng Li, Zhao Gang, Peng Gang, Zeng Rong, Jiang Peixue, Xu Qinghong, Wang Hongwei, and Zhang Qin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, attended the ceremony. Jiang Peixue presided over the ceremony.
At the ceremony, Vice President Jiang Peixue reported on the graduation of the 2024 graduate students and the conferment of doctoral and master's degrees.
Qiu Yong read out the commendation decision and made a graduation speech
Qiu Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University, read out the "Decision on Commending Outstanding Doctoral Graduates and Outstanding Master's Graduates of Tsinghua University in 2024" and sent a message to the graduates that only by standing up with faith, personality and hard work can they move forward firmly towards the lofty goal of life. I hope that the students will stick to their original intentions, never forget why they set out no matter how far they go, and face the test of life with the infinite strength given by faith. Self-cultivation and self-discipline, "three provinces and my body", self-respect, so that the heart has no violation, no fault becomes conscious, and always maintains the nobility of "purity". Work hard, bend down, sink down, always maintain inexhaustible enthusiasm, work hard, dedication, and achieve the abundance of "Hua". "Struggle is the brightest background color of youth, and action is the most effective tempering of youth." I hope that the students will keep in mind the entrustment of General Secretary Xi Jinping, live up to the time, and write a magnificent chapter in their lives in this great era.
After discussion and approval by the Council of Tsinghua University, it was decided to award 110 doctoral graduates the title of "Outstanding Doctoral Graduates of Tsinghua University" and 88 master's graduates the title of "Outstanding Master's Graduates of Tsinghua University".

Li Luming spoke
Li Luming, President and Chairman of the Academic Degree Evaluation Committee, delivered a speech entitled "Facing the Era of Change and Pursuing Eternal Values". On behalf of the school, he congratulated the students who are about to open a new chapter in their lives, and expressed his gratitude to the teachers who have worked hard for everyone to learn and grow, and the relatives and friends who have given care and support to the students. Li Luming said: At present, mankind is in an era of great development, great change, and great adjustment, and changes in the world pattern, economy and society, science and technology, ideology and culture have profoundly affected everyone's life, and the future is full of uncertainties. But there are always some eternal values worth pursuing, which can allow us to always maintain inner fullness and firmness, and pursue a more high, more realm, and more tasteful life. Noble character and true knowledge of truth are eternal values worth pursuing, and I hope that everyone will cultivate the character of a gentleman such as "bowing to oneself" and "seeking oneself", and maintain the spirit of "never getting tired of learning" and "renewing day by day". I hope that everyone will carry forward the spirit of patriotism, dedication and the pursuit of excellence, and expand the life pattern of openness, inclusiveness and concern for the world. In the process of pursuing eternal values, we must not only grasp the present, but also stick to it for a long time. I hope that everyone will uphold the school spirit of "actions speak louder than words", with the tenacity of "grinding thousands of blows and still being strong", and the determination of "sitting on the bench for ten years", seize the day, persevere, and practice the responsibility of Tsinghua people's life with hard work. Li Luming encouraged the students to study in morality, serve the country, keep the world in mind, face the era of change, pursue eternal values, and let their youth shine with brilliance in permanent struggle and sincere dedication.

Alumni representative Pan Shilong made a speech
Pan Shilong, a 2000 alumnus of the Department of Electronics, executive dean of the School of Electronic and Information Engineering of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and director of the State Key Laboratory of Microwave Photonic Technology, delivered a speech as an alumni representative. Focusing on the three key words of "love", self-improvement and self-love, and patriotic struggle, he shared the story of devoting himself to microwave photonics research, independent innovation and research and development of advanced instruments leading the international level and breaking through scientific research problems, and constantly striving to realize the dream of serving the country through scientific research.
Chen Qiang, the representative of the graduates, delivered a speech
Chen Qiang, a 2019 doctoral student in the Department of Chemical Engineering, delivered a speech as a representative of the graduates. He recalled three unforgettable moments of his time at Tsinghua University: he was moved by the story of Mr. Wang Jiading, a scientist of the older generation, and since then he has determined his ambition to do scientific research from the sky; bravely stepped into the "no man's land" of scientific research to explore, and tempered the courage to overcome difficulties; I have gained joy and a sense of accomplishment from guiding and helping my younger brothers and sisters to carry out scientific research, and I am firmly committed to the cause of teaching and educating people. In the future, he will go to Southwest University to engage in teaching and scientific research, hoping to contribute to the development of higher education and science and technology in the western part of the motherland.

After the graduation ceremony, the school leaders gathered tassels and awarded degrees to the graduates one by one in the comprehensive gymnasium, and took a group photo with each graduate.
