On June 28, when Lai Qingde inspected the training of recruits in Taiwan's defense department in Taichung, he said that peace in the Taiwan Strait is conducive to world peace. At the same time, he declared that "the international community believes that peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait is a necessary element of world security and prosperity, and opposes the use of force by any country to change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait." At a recent regular news conference held by the Ministry of National Defense, spokesman Wu Qian said when talking about the Taiwan Strait issue that as far as the DPP authorities are concerned, "encircling Taiwan on all sides" "requires them to adapt," and the relevant actions of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) are aimed at the separatist activities of the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces. For Lai Qingde, the six words "need them to adapt" are obviously not the answers he wants to hear, but they are the reality he has to accept.
