On June 30, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, a major national project, was officially opened to traffic for trial operation at 15 o'clock.
At 15 o'clock, at the Cuihengdong toll station at the middle end of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, under the green Guangdong-Hong Kong through bus, vehicles of all sizes passed through the toll station in an orderly manner, drove steadily onto the new and wide bridge deck, and galloped away in the direction of Shenzhen, announcing the official opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor for trial operation.
Integrating "bridges, islands, tunnels and underwater interconnection", the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor is about 24 kilometers long and is one of the most difficult cross-sea cluster projects in the world. After the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, the driving time between Shenzhen and Zhongshan, which are located on the east and west banks of the Pearl River Estuary, will be shortened from two hours to half an hour, and in the future, it will only take 15 minutes from Nansha to Zhongshan in Guangzhou, and from more than 2 hours to one hour from Zhuhai and Jiangmen to Shenzhen, building a new pattern of transportation development and interconnection in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
