On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Sino-French Engineering College of Beihang University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics held the "Forum on High-quality Development of Sino-French Cooperation in Running Schools and Achievement Exhibition" from June 29 to 30. During the forum, the graduation ceremony of engineers from the Sino-French Engineering Institute of Beihang University was also held, which has so far trained more than 1,000 graduates with Chinese master's degrees and French engineering diplomas.
Before the forum, Zhao Changlu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, said in a meeting with the delegation of the Central University of Science and Technology Group and the delegation of the French National Institute of Applied Sciences that Beihang University and the Central Institute of Technology Group have made extraordinary achievements in the past 20 years of cooperation, and have trained more than 1,000 engineers with an international vision. In the future, Beihang University will expand its cooperation with France, and open a new cooperation project with the French National School of Applied Sciences Group in Hangzhou, hoping that in the future, China and France can carry out broader and deeper cooperation in more disciplines, cultivate more talents, and work together to contribute to the development of the world.
On the afternoon of June 29, the Sino-French Forum on High-Quality Development of Cooperative Education was held in Beihang University. More than 200 experts attended the forum, including leaders from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Education and other relevant departments, as well as leaders from many Chinese and French universities. Wang Yunpeng, President of Beihang University, delivered a keynote report entitled "Building Dreams for 20 Years, Working Together to Draw a New Chapter Sino-French Engineering Education in Beihang University: Review and Prospect", saying that in the future, Beihang University will work together with French partners to continue to consolidate and deepen cooperation with France and create a new highland for international cooperation in Hangzhou. Conscientiously implement the consensus of the heads of state of China and France, and actively respond to the initiative of "10,000 in three years, double in Europe". Strive to increase the proportion of international students in the Sino-French Institute of Engineering to 40% within three years.
Four guests, including Sobelang, Chairman of the Central Polytechnic University, Murad Bouhafa, Chairman of the French National School of Applied Sciences Group and President of the French National School of Applied Sciences Rouen, Pierre Viallette, CIO of Airbus China, and Guo Jinliang, General Manager of the Education Industry of Huawei China's Government-Enterprise Education and Healthcare System Department, spoke successively to discuss the development trend of Sino-French higher education cooperation in Beihang University from different perspectives, and provide new thinking for the training of outstanding engineers in China and France.
During the forum, the graduation ceremony of the engineer graduates of the Sino-French Engineering College of Beihang University was also held. From June 28th to 30th, the exhibition of achievements of Sino-French cooperation in running schools was held at the square of Beihang Aviation Museum.
In 2004, as the result of the cooperation between China and France in the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics signed a contract with the École Centrale Group to jointly establish the Sino-French Engineering College of Beihang University. The school was one of the first to be selected into the "Outstanding Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education, and it is also the first Sino-foreign cooperative education institution to be certified by the French Engineer Titles Commission (CTI) and the European Engineer Education System (EUR-ACE).
