The cute polar bear is very popular with boys. Many people compare Russia to a polar bear because it is strong and resilient, and the polar bear is also regarded as a national hero of Russia, and it has always played an indispensable role during major events in Russia. At the 1980 Olympic Games held in Moscow, the mascot Misha was also a bear, so many people thought that the mascot bear of the Winter Olympics was Misha's junior, and it also symbolized the Russians' miss for the Moscow Olympics.

The bunny is the smallest of the three mascots and the most festive. Between the snow leopard and the polar bear, the little rabbit is like a little sister, lively and cute, so she is also loved by female consumers.

Designers:

Silvia Petrova (Hare), Oleg Seredshne (White Bear), Vatim Parker (Snow Leopard)

The choice of mascot was born out of a design competition, which was first open to all of Russia and later to the world. In the end, the organizing committee received a total of 24,048 designs. The jury selected 10 proposals to advance to the next round of competition. Professional designers began refining the first draft to create the final form of the mascot. On February 26, 2011, on the TV show "Talismaniya Sochi 2014 - The Final", the final mascot plan was decided.
